@LorStay4Life@5eniorDeveloper For positions with thousands of applicants and really complicated job tasks it might make sense.
I personally do 2.5 interviews for my employees. 1 phone, one in person, and the last with a different rep to check my blind spots.
@skumWgmi It's almost like she probably had too much student debt and didn't spend her youth finding a husband who could split the rent.
I had ~300 left over when i was single too. Wife moved in and it got measurably better. Able to save to buy a house, etc.
We're not meant to be single.
@catgirlprostate There is a belief (right or wrong, who knows) that many medical staff will not try as hard to save a borderline patient whos an organ donor because 1, they might damage the organs, and 2, they want the organs now and not later.
So it's not all 'selfish' reasons.
To the Americans:
I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States.
And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness:
You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence.
This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns.
Success is equated with exploitation.
Ambition is looked upon with contempt.
This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom.
But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated.
This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet.
And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America:
Thank God for the United States.
Thank God for the wisdom of its founders.
Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man.
Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners.
Long may your admirable country dominate the world.
Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states.
May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning.
Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill.
Thank God for the USA.
Happy 250th.

@_OKJ__ Satan was just trying to get Jesus to become imperfect so he would no longer be the perfect sacrifice.
Also. Yahwey is all knowing. Satan is not.
I'm not entirely sure satan knew exactly what Jesus was up to when he came to earth.
@Atomsmade@ZedSharp3 You have a childish view of life.
His nature is perfect and good. And humans rejected that so we live in a fallen world where we only experience part of that.
It's in his mercy that the doesn't come back now so that more people are brought to him in glory instead of destroyed.
@MuellerSheWrote Agreed.
Anyone who doesn't realize that the birthright citizenship of baby tourists is insane needs shouldn't hold any public office.
9mo pregnant lady from china visits guam and has the baby... yup citizen.
Give me a break.
It's not even possible to defend honestly.
@HannahDCox Except all of the random Europeans who are totally blown away with how nice and courteous and polite and kind and happy they interactions they are having with random Texans (among other states).
@ellonico To punish the criminal and protect the citizens from their presence.
It's either that or kill them that are the only two ethical responses to crime.
@JoshEakle Cuz they aren't trying to destroy the normal society. Take a page from that book.
All the loser woke and muslim crazies want to take over.
Primary difference.
@Hitchslap1 2/2.
I imagine this is more true when a much larger portion of the population is 'dumb' compared to you.
But being the smartest around places extra burden on you in most cases.
@Hitchslap1 Being the smartest person in the room cant for sure be rough (I am sometimes, but not always).
It means you see things others don't. Sometimes things that they don't want to admit are wrong without a fight.
Also the sheer stupidity of some people is painful to be around. 1/2
