How often do you see people posting their bad days or bad angles? Usually on social media people only post the highlights from their life, causing others to compare themselves and wish they had someone else's life #makingsocialmedia

Is anyone truly authentic on social media? Social media is a place where people only share a highlight reel of the best moments in their life, instead of balancing it out with the down side as well
Public Private Self - It is in this version that a celebrity engages, or appears to engage, in the world of social networking. Trying to appear vulnerable and relatable. Slightly more authentic but still calculated. @GraceCarlin2579#makingsocialmedia
One thing I took away from this weeks reading is that “authenticity is manufactured” (Poletti & Rak, 2013), meaning that we seek to portray a better version of ourselves on social media. #makingsocialmedia
Here on social media, we can choose to be whoever we want to be, even if it’s not who we truly are. Poletti and Rak (2013) state that social media allows users to “try out versions” of themselves. So the question is who are you going to choose to be? #makingsocialmedia
In todays class- Reading about authenticity and this quote stood out to us.
