Last night, was the Beverly Hills premiere of the movie featuring the song that I co-wrote with a friend of mine.
It also hits Amazon Prime and Apple TV today.

🚨 REMINDER: John Battaglia murdered his 2 daughters while, according to forensic psychologists, experiencing psychosis stemming from bipolar disorder.

The jury deliberated for just 19 minutes.

He was executed in Texas in 2018.

So let me guess…

She had mental health issues, so any day now we’ll have women outside the courthouse protesting for HER instead of remembering the 3-year-old little girl who died locked in a hot car.

Kelly Brown pleaded guilty to manslaughter after her daughter, Fiona, and the family dog were found dead inside that vehicle.

And yes, mental illness was brought into her defense. Her attorney said mental-health issues were clouding her judgment and perception at the time.

Mental illness can help explain someone’s actions. It does not automatically erase accountability.

Brown still pleaded guilty.

Can we please stop making the surviving adult the center of the tragedy?

Fiona was only 3 years old. She deserved to be protected, to grow up, and to have an entire life ahead of her. 💔

May this beautiful little girl be remembered for her life—not simply for the horrific way it ended.

Apparently, being a woman means I’m supposed to automatically side with other women.

I heard it with Hillary Clinton.

I heard it with Kamala Harris.

“You’re a woman. You should vote for her.”

No. Being a woman has never been enough to earn my vote.

And now I’m seeing a version of that same attitude with Lindsay Clancy.

Because I’m a woman and a mother, some people seem genuinely shocked that I don’t automatically sympathize with her or defend her.

But Lindsay Clancy isn’t on trial for being a woman or a mother. She’s on trial over the deaths of her three children.

Her mental state and criminal responsibility are questions for the jury. But I am perfectly capable of looking at the evidence and reaching my own opinion without giving her a pass simply because she’s female.

I don’t vote with my gender.

I don’t excuse behavior based on gender.

And I certainly don’t believe women should be immune from criticism or accountability because other women are expected to “stand with them.”

I’m a woman.

I think for myself.

And I will choose what I believe is RIGHT over some imaginary obligation to support another woman every single time.

💔 THIS is what breaks my heart.

Those tiny red pajamas belonged to 8-month-old Callan Clancy — the youngest of Lindsay Clancy’s three children.

Prosecutors held them up in court as evidence.

Just look at how small they are.

They’re not just an exhibit. They belonged to a BABY. A little boy who should have outgrown them, taken his first steps, said his first words, and had an entire childhood ahead of him.

Instead, his pajamas are evidence in a murder trial.

With so much attention focused on Lindsay, I refuse to let the children become footnotes in their own story.

Callan was only 8 months old.

Remember his name. Remember his little life.

HE was the victim. 💔

On July 2, 1982, a truck driver from California went up to 16,000 feet in a lawn chair in the skies above Los Angeles.

Larry Walters, 33, from San Pedro, bought 42 helium weather balloons, tied them to a regular Sears lawn chair, strapped on a parachute, and took a CB radio, some sandwiches, a six-pack of beer and a BB gun to shoot some of the balloons for the descent.

Larry expected to float a few hundred feet above his backyard but he shot straight up like a rocket to 16,000 feet. He drifted directly into the main approach path for LAX. Two airline pilots radioed the tower reporting a man in a lawn chair holding a gun at 16,000 feet.

For 45 minutes he floated over Los Angeles, freezing, too scared to shoot any balloons in case he fell. Eventually he started popping them one by one and slowly came down.

He landed tangled in power lines in Long Beach, causing a blackout. The FAA fined him $4,000. He became a national folk hero, “Lawnchair Larry,” 44 years ago.
