Californians - like me, I bet a lot of you are worried about air quality right now, trying to navigate what's safe for kids. We need a Master Plan for Climate Resilient Schools! Email Governor Newsom to say YES on SB394 - use this tool to send a message: https://t.co/dwCekxsn5H
"As a pediatrician & mother, I'm concerned about the impacts of climate change...on my patients & children. Our schools should be safe places for our children to learn, thrive, build community." -@SonjaSwenson on why we need @GavinNewsom to sign #SB394!https://t.co/hoCA5Wmvov

Pediatricians and providers who care for kids - diesel school buses are dangerous for child health! Does anyone have a story they'd be able to share with me about a pediatric patient whose health has been impacted by a diesel powered bus - or improved by an electric school bus?
Anyone have suggestions for short and condense best practices for talking to colleagues about climate and health - bonus points if the focus is on people working in the health/public health sector? Thanks! @MaibachEd @Pknappen
“This new recurring threat of terrible air quality from wildfire smoke is one big reason we believe that for a child born today, climate change may be the single greatest determinant of health over the course of their lives.” - @LisaPatelMD

"Maybe on mornings like this, rising to find the sky full of smoke, just enough people will decide: This burning world is not the world I have known, and it’s not the world I want my children to know.' https://t.co/KJEMBD8wa2
I know from living through wildfire smoke that even if you're lucky enough not to have an asthma or COPD flare, it hurts everything - eyes, ears, throat. This IS ABOUT HEALTH. Health community - this is our lane. Climate change - caused by fossil fuels- is hurting our health.
Fox guest: There's just no health risk...We have this kind of air in India and China all the time, no public health emergency... this doesn't kill anybody, this doesn't make anybody cough, this is not a health event... particulate matter is just very fine soot, they're innocuous.
“There doesn’t need to be a trade-off between health of the patient and the health of the planet.”

As #wildfires grow increasingly severe due to climate change, so do their health harms and threats to clean air.
To protect our communities, we can no longer delay climate action and a just transition from fossil fuels. @LisaPatelMD @TODAYshow

Connect the dots: bad air quality, caused by Canadian wildfires, intensified by global warming, caused by fossil fuels, produced by companies like ExxonMobil, who lied for decades about the impacts of their product.
The AQI in my hometown in New York is 250 now from the Canadian wildfires. Wildfire smoke is 10x more toxic than other forms of air pollution. If we stay on current emission trajectories we'll see an increase in wildfires by 75% by the end of the century. Let's #ActOnClimate.
