Only Him can truly guide every journey and bring us safely through.
Since that day, I still appreciate people, I still respect excellence but my trust?
That, I keep with God.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…” Proverbs 3:5–6
This verse came alive for me in the most unexpected place on a flight.
There’s this particular pilot I really like. Anytime I board a plane and hear he’s the one flying, I just relax.
And right there, that verse dropped in my heart differently.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…”
Not in man. Not in systems. Not even in what has always worked before.
Because at the end of the day, only God sees what we cannot see.
And in that quiet moment, something shifted in me.
The same pilot I trusted so much… well, not because he wasn’t skilled. Not because he didn’t know what he was doing. But simply because some things are beyond human control.
He tried again. Same thing, speed, then brakes.
By the third attempt, it was clear something wasn’t right. The runway was almost running out, and we had to stop completely and turn back. We sat there for about 30 minutes while other planes took off.
So one day, I boarded and heard it was him again. I smiled to myself. “This flight is sorted.”
We taxied to the runway like normal. The plane began to accelerate, building up for takeoff… then suddenly, the brakes came on.
We paused.
No anxiety, no silent prayers every few minutes like I usually do. His takeoffs are so smooth you barely notice, and his landings are even better.
Over time, I got comfortable maybe too comfortable. I stopped being as cautious because in my mind, if he’s flying, then I’m fine.
@MimieLaushi Exactly what I was discussing with the family yesterday. I get home from work by 6pm. I will only be privileged to see the light from afar , few minutes after entering my house, they take the light. This had been going on for more than a week now 🥺
