APC Governors Hold Closed-Door Meeting, Resolve to Meet APC National Leadership for 2027 Polls
APC state governors held a closed-door meeting last night and resolved to engage the party’s national leadership in strategic talks as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.
It was a privilege to join Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, alongside Governor Umar Namadi, FCA, governors, ministers, and dignitaries for the North-West launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme in Jigawa State. This initiative will go a long way in improving access to nutritious food for vulnerable children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.
Her Excellency also commissioned the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy and the Oluremi Tinubu Clinic, two public facilities delivered by NITDA Nigeria. These will expand access to education and healthcare and strengthen our human capital development goals.
What Nyesom Wike is doing in Abuja in terms of infrastructure development, especially the construction of roads linking satellite communities to the city’s urban centers, is commendable. History will remember him for these investments in critical infrastructure.
President Tinubu Swears In New Commissioners Including Amina Gamawa for RMAFC and NPC
President Bola Tinubu on Monday swore in new federal commissioners for the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and the National Population Commission (NPC).
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
Among those inaugurated for the RMAFC were Amina Gamawa (Bauchi State) and Abdullahi Mukhtar Mohammed (Kaduna State), the former Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. Both took the oath of office as federal commissioners for the revenue commission.
For the National Population Commission, six new commissioners were sworn in.
They are:
Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi – Ekiti State
Nasiru Mu’azu – Zamfara State
Isaka Alada Yahaya – Kwara State
Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda – Katsina State
Suleiman Umar – Jigawa State
Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo – Sokoto State
This is the Zawachiki Railway Station, the central station in Kano for the Lagos–Kano National Railway Service. Construction began in July 2021 and has now reached the final phase of completion. Once completed, it will be one of the largest railway stations in the country.

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima @officialSKSM, on Saturday graced the wedding reception of Nanbam Mutfwang, daughter of Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang @CalebMutfwang, who was married to Jeremiah Ayodele, spotlighting the unifying power of the marriage institution and how it can be leveraged to transform the state into an economic powerhouse.
Senator Shettima who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT at the wedding ceremony said the union, which brings together the North and the South, symbolizes that what binds Nigerians together far outweighs whatever seeks to divide the nation.
"We need to build bridges; we need to embrace one another. Challenges bring forth the character of leaders," he said at the wedding reception held at Lang Field, Barkin Ladi Road, Jos.
The Vice President noted that while Plateau faces challenges, they are not insurmountable, especially with the right calibre of leadership.
He expressed delight at the presence of stakeholders, describing them as the movers and shakers of Plateau politics.
The Vice President called on the people of Plateau, irrespective of their political affiliations, religious persuasions, tribal identities or sectional backgrounds to unite.
"We can transform Plateau into an economic powerhouse," Vice President Shettima said, adding that though the beautiful city faces challenges that threaten to make it a depressed economy, stakeholders in Jos have the capacity to change the narrative and add value.
The Vice President urged the people to unite and live together as brothers.
For his part, Governor Muftwang expressed delight at the presence of the Vice President and conveyed his appreciation for the goodwill of President Tinubu.
He also thanked the Federal Government for its sustained progressive reforms in enhancing security in the state and the country at large, saying "we must continue to forge ahead with hope."
Dignitaries at the event included the Governors of Borno and Kaduna States, Babagana Umara Zulum @ProfZulum and Uba Sani @ubasanius; the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa;the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction in Nigeria, Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro; the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda; former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Meanwhile, Vice President Shettima was earlier in Kaduna State where he attended the wedding fatiha of Salihu Bello (Sudais) and Amina Abubakar Abdullahi (Walidah).
The solemnization involving the family of his longtime friend, Abubakar Abdullahi Attajiri, took place at the Sultan Bello Mosque, Kaduna.
Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum served as wali (guardian) for the bride, Amina Abubakar Abdullahi, while Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani stood in for the groom, Salihu Bello, during the marriage ceremony.
The Vice President who was received by Governor Uba Sani upon arrival was accompanied by his wife, Hajiya Nana Shettima; Governor Zulum; former Minister of Transportation, Sai'du Ahmed Alkali, as well as some top aides and government officials.
