Amazon @PrimeVideo’s series Raakh (directed by Prosit Roy, written by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket) is a textbook example. It takes the horrific 1978 Ranga-Billa case and deliberately injects caste and communal angles that never existed in reality.
In 1978, career criminals Kuljeet Singh (Ranga) and Jasbir Singh (Billa) kidnapped and brutally murdered teenage siblings Geeta and Sanjay Chopra in Delhi. The crime shook the nation. Delhi Police, led by Inspector V.P. Gupta with SI Ram Chander on the team, conducted a swift investigation. Bystander Babulal helped identify the killers by providing crucial descriptions. Journalist Prabha Dutt covered the case. Police Commissioner J.N. Chaturvedi oversaw the probe. The killers were convicted and hanged in 1982. There were no caste-discrimination or communal subplots in the actual investigation.
The series replaces these real people with ideologically convenient characters:
- Inspector V.P. Gupta is erased and replaced by SI Jayprakash Jatav, portrayed as a Dalit officer battling “institutional bias” (played by Ali Fazal).
- SI Ram Chander becomes SI Javed Murtaza, a Muslim officer.
- Babulal is changed to Saleem.
- Journalist Prabha Dutt is recast as Nisar, a Muslim woman.
- A new lazy Brahmin hawaldar named Mishra is added to push stereotypes against Brahmins.
This is not creative freedom. Creative freedom does not include rewriting documented history to manufacture a caste-discrimination narrative and cosy up to specific political verticals. It is calculated distortion, a pure leftist propaganda dressed up as “inspired by true events.”
The real victims and the actual officers who delivered justice deserve respect, not this contemptuous rewriting of their story to fit a pre-decided ideological script. Exploiting a brutal crime that shocked the nation for narrative-spinning is the lowest form of filmmaking.
History is being falsified in plain sight. Betrayal with the victims and real heroes who caught the criminals.
Shame on @amazonIN for funding it and shame on the Censor Board for approving it.

PUNJAB ANTI-BLASPHEMY LAW PRESENTS A PROBLEM.
EVERY RELIGION DESERVES RESPECT BUT A SECULAR STATE CANNOT BECOME A SENTINEL IN SERVICE OF JUST ONE.
Under pressure and keen to appease the AAP-led Punjab government officially added 30 new reverential terms to the sacrilege (blasphemy) law list, strengthening the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The updated legislation sets punishments ranging from 10 years to life imprisonment and fines up to ₹25 lakh for the desecration of Sikh scriptures. While all religions must be held in the highest respect there is a fundamental issue with anti-blasphemy laws.
1. India is a secular state. India's Constitution does not privilege one religion over another. If the state starts expanding lists of "blasphemous" words or expressions for one faith, every religion could demand similar protections. The government would become an arbiter of what constitutes a religious offence. This blurs the line between religion and state. India is not a theocracy like Pakistan.
2. In India there are existing laws already to protect public order and prevent hate speech. The answer is to enforce these laws effectively.
3.Anti-blasphemy laws also stymie conversations around religious reform. Very often it is the progressives that are deemed heretical and burnt at the stake for questioning dogma that may not even align with the Constitution.
🚨 Update: Along with the criminal complaint filed against Dhruv Rathee for his defamatory video targeting Bhagwan Shri Ram, Seeta Mata and Bhagwan Shri Krishna, we have pursued civil remedies.
A Writ Petition seeking directions to GAC to decide the appeal or removal of the offensive video has been approved, registered, and will now be listed before the Hon'ble High Court tomorrow.
Additionally, the Ld. Magistrate has also directed the concerned SHO to file Action Taken Report on our complaint against Dhruv Rathee for 10.09.2026.
Until now, Bhagwan Shri Krishna has been doing everything, and He will continue to do so in the future as well. 🙏

The country is facing an unprecedented rainfall deficit and a growing water crisis, yet no politician seems to be talking about it.
I wonder what their duty is. Is it just to contest elections?

This university, founded by a Hindu zamindar, has now turned into a nursery of jihadism and Islamists.
