📌 A BIG PUSH FOR DE-DOLLARISATION?

India is calling for stronger financial cooperation among BRICS nations, including trade in local currencies and linking payment systems.

At the #BRICS opening ceremony, India urged member countries to:

💳 Promote digital payments for global trade

If implemented at scale, this could reduce dependence on the US dollar in intra-BRICS trade and strengthen alternative payment mechanisms.
