This tragic sad passing of SSGT Mahudhy wouldn't have happened if MNDF prioritised the need for proper equipment and training. That goes to all the Defence Ministers who came after 2008. To them the dive unit was and still is not a prioroty.
I'm just hearing that a lot of political pressure was on the MNDF divers...its just unbelievable how these fucking politicians push everything. I sincerely hope we find who ordered them to risk their lives to recover bodies.
No one listened to my advice on Friday....and now what? Where do we stand?
Still asking input from recreational dive "legends" who have no knowledge or experience in technical and cave diving.
@AmithAli Monica had dived into the Blue Hole to a depth of 90 meters she was an experienced professional. She knew the dangers of the sea, and her daughter was with her, she would never have attempted something irresponsible. Something unpredictable happened down there.
The recreational diving regulations of the Maldives allows us to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters
Sadly the end results of violating the diving rules and regulations causes such tragedy.! Respect to your limits. 🙏🏻
@summachicken@AmithAli This is Maldives. a proper investigation is out of the question. If done properly the operations license and all should be confiscated. So far no exact cause been established but i reckon nitrogen narcosis + inadequate training for such a deep dive.
@AmithAli pure negligence from the dive guides and the operators. This is no regular dive site thats should conducted with guest divers. its cave located at Devana Kandu. It starts at 50+ meters and goes up to 60 to 70 meters. Special planning etc required to execute this dive.
