Gujarat | During the search conducted on IndiGo Flight No. 6E-1478 arriving from Dubai at SVPI Airport, Ahmedabad on 12.06.2026, Customs officials, with the help of Aircraft Engineers, seized two pouches wrapped in black plastic tape inside the speaker box located in the front lavatory of the aircraft.
After search, 24 foreign origin gold biscuits of 999.0 purity (24 Carat) weighing a total weight of 2,799.3 grams were found in the hidden pouches. The local market value of this gold was Rs 4,26,89,325.
The manner of concealment indicates that the gold was concealed by an unknown person with the intention of smuggling it into India in violation of the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962. As no person came forward to claim the legal ownership of the seized gold, it was seized as unclaimed under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1962.

The customs officers of IGI airport, New Delhi, have booked a case of smuggling green color NDPS substance. On the basis of profiling, one Indian passenger arriving from Bangkok by flight no. 6E-1054 dated 09.06.2026 was intercepted by Customs officers at Terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi on 10.06.2026.
During X-ray screening and detailed examination of the passenger's baggage, eight (08) polythene pouches containing green-coloured narcotic substance suspected to be Ganja/Marijuana were recovered from a black-coloured trolley bag.
The recovered substance weighed 6,939.5 grams (net weight) and, upon diagnostic testing, prima facie tested positive for Ganja/Marijuana. The estimated value of the seized contraband is approximately ₹2.43 crore.
Accordingly, the passenger was arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985 and the contraband along with the packing material was seized.

🚨 Gold Smuggling Bust at Bengaluru Airport | 10.06.2026
Bengaluru Customs intercepted a passenger arriving from Dubai and seized 899.50 grams of 24K gold valued at ₹1.37 crore, concealed in 4 capsules of gold paste.
The pax is arrested under the Customs Act.

The customs officers of IGI airport, New Delhi, have booked a case of smuggling green color NDPS substance. One passenger travelling from Bangkok to Delhi by flight no. AI 2356 dated 08.06.2026 was intercepted after crossing the Customs Green Channel at IGI Airport, New Delhi.
During X-ray screening of the passenger's baggage, suspicious images were noticed. Subsequent detailed examination of the baggage resulted in recovery of three (06) vacuum-sealed packets suspected to contain Hydroponic Weed (Ganja) weighing approximately 4045 grams. The market value of the seized hydroponic weed is approx. 1.42 crore.

Seizure: 2755 grams Gold
On the basis of specific intelligence, officers of Customs at IGI Airport, New Delhi, booked a case involving the smuggling of gold in paste form against an Indian male passenger who arrived from Sharjah by Flight No. IX-136 on 01.06.2026.
The passenger was intercepted at the arrival bus gate upon arrival. Simultaneously, a follow-up operation was launched onboard the aircraft to locate and recover the suspected contraband. During a thorough rummaging of the aircraft, Customs officers recovered two black-coloured pouches weighing approximately 3,550 grams from beneath Seat No. 22C, located immediately in front of Seat No. 23C occupied by the suspect passenger.
Subsequent extraction and refining of the seized material resulted in the recovery of 2,755 grams of gold. The recovered gold was appraised at a tariff value of ₹3,80,48,523/- (Rupees Three Crore Eighty Lakh Forty-Eight Thousand Five Hundred Twenty-Three only).
The recovered gold has been seized under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962. The passenger has been arrested under Section 104 of the Customs Act, 1962.

Seizure: 17,720 grams marijuana/ganja (gross weight)
The Customs Officers of IGI Airport, New Delhi, have booked a case of smuggling. One passenger travelling from Bangkok to Delhi by flight no. AI-2335 dated 12.05.2026 was discreetly kept under surveillance by Customs officers at IGI Airport, New Delhi.
Simultaneously, another passenger arriving from Sharjah by flight no. IX-136 was spot profiled while crossing the Green Channel with a bag having no baggage tag. During X-ray screening, suspicious images were noticed.
On detailed enquiry and personal search, baggage tags were recovered from the passenger, who admitted that he had been instructed to collect the bag booked in the name of the Bangkok passenger. Further examination of the baggage resulted in recovery of Hydroponic Weed (Ganja) weighing 17.720 kg (including packing material).

Seizure: 396 grams Gold
The Customs Officers at IGI Airport, New Delhi, on the basis of spot profiling, booked two separate cases of gold smuggling involving two passengers arriving from Riyadh by Flynas flight.
During screening at the Green Channel, both passengers were diverted for X-ray examination of their baggage. On scanning, suspicious images were noticed inside chocolate packets carried by the passengers. The packets were detained on suspicion of concealment of gold in dust form and sent for detailed examination and recovery.
Subsequently, after furnace recovery, a total of 396 grams of gold of 999.9 purity, concealed inside chocolates, was recovered in the two cases (200 grams and 196 grams respectively).
The recovered gold was seized under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962 and cases have been booked against the passengers.
