Pakistan’s government is defying its own Supreme Court and keeping Imran Khan behind bars on politically motivated charges.
After years of imprisonment, prolonged isolation, and growing concerns about his health, Khan was ordered by Pakistan’s Supreme Court to receive independent medical treatment with access to his personal physician. Instead, authorities returned him to prison without carrying out the ordered care.
But this goes beyond medical treatment. Imran Khan should not be imprisoned in the first place.
Amnesty International has called his imprisonment “unlawful and politically motivated,” and the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has called for his immediate release.
Pakistan must respect the rule of law, end his isolation, allow independent medical care, and FREE IMRAN KHAN.

Imran Khan's family, political party and fellow cricket players are sounding the alarm over his deteriorating health in prison. I spoke to his close aide Zulfi Bukhari about his latest condition and the court case his party's filing against the Pakistani government over Khan's hospital visit last week:
The sons of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan have spoken to Al Jazeera about their father’s worsening health in prison. Kasim and Suleiman Khan are demanding authorities allow access to independent medical treatment.
I join @Athersmike in demanding that @Kasim_Khan_1999 be granted access to proper medical care and his family.
It is time the @commonwealthsec acted boldly in this regard.
I hope that people like @HelenClarkNZ will add their voices to this demand.
I’m just so impressed by the bravery of these boys. They take after their father @ImranKhanPTI and though he has been locked away in inhumane, life threatening isolation and will not have seen their many interventions, I know he would be so proud to see them fighting for justice
The sons of Pakistan's ex-PM Imran Khan, Sulaiman and Kasim Khan, tell Al Jazeera that they are increasingly worried after hearing that their 73-year-old father is ‘agitated’ and suffering from ‘severe anxiety.’

I remain deeply concerned about the ongoing detention of Imran Khan.
His disgraceful treatment is an affront to the democratic rights of the people of Pakistan.
We must continue to speak up for the release of all political prisoners everywhere.
Adding my support here to GC and the other former international captains. I hope the court ordered medical assessment be allowed to run its course, and that family visits continue. I hope Imran Khan is treated with the dignity anyone deserves

The Pakistani regime appear to have flouted the order by the court for Imran Khan to be kept in hospital.
There are grave concerns that his health is dangerously deteriorating.
There are strong indications that Imran Khan would have won the electiom had it been contested fairly and that the charges have been created to prevent him speaking to the Pakiatani people
