Today is #InternationalClinicalTrialsDay and we’re celebrating the patients, researchers and healthcare professionals that make clinical research possible.

Our recent report commissioned with @wellcometrust , and delivered by @FrontierEcon, highlights the huge value of non-commercial clinical research. It shows that charity and publicly funded research contributed £72.7 billion to the UK economy between 2014 and 2024.

This research delivers a triple dividend – driving growth, supporting the NHS and improving lives.

Data published today by the @DHSCgovuk has shown an important decrease in the time it takes to set up clinical trials in the UK. Read our response to the latest figures below 👇

We’re boosting the speed at which clinical trials can be set up.

It now takes just 122 days on average to set up, from submission for approval to the first patient.

It's a huge win for patients, with faster access to new treatments and medicine.
