Beyond the outcome of the poll, what is significant is the larger aspiration it represents: a growing national yearning for change and the collective determination to rescue Nigeria from its present trajectory.

We wish to draw public attention to serious allegations against Operation Rainbow, the Plateau State Government-backed community security outfit.

Reports from multiple victims and eyewitnesses allege that its operatives are responsible for coordinated attacks on Muslim communities, especially Fulani pastoralists in Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Mangu and Bokkos.

Victims allege that their settlements were invaded, ranches set ablaze, and both humans and animals hunted by men identified as Operation Rainbow personnel.

The repeated rejection of calls to include Fulani youths in the outfit further fuels suspicion that it was not created for inclusive peacebuilding, but for targeted dislodgement.

We therefore urge the Federal Government and all relevant human rights bodies to conduct a credible, independent investigation into these allegations. Should the outfit be found complicit, we demand its immediate dissolution in the interest of justice, peace and protection of all citizens.
