Thank you @PrepBaseballIL for a great experience at the Junior Future Games! It was great to showcase my ability’s while also competing against the best in the country. Finished in the final 4 making us the best Illinois team to play in the JFG. @DrewLocascio@Detto813
At last night's football game, our Hillzone had a “Gold Out” theme to honor Cal and the mission of the Cal's Angels foundation. Declan and Beckett served as honorary captains.
Declan’s cancer journey began in June of 2020 when he began having seizures. He had brain surgery where five large tumors were found and removed, but results were inconclusive. He was 2 years old at the time. After months of antibiotics and inconclusive tests, Declan went to Mayo Clinic. After many more tests, it was determined that he had over 200 tumors and that they were cancerous. He was diagnosed with histiocytosis anaplastic lymphoma kinase. One year to the day of his first seizure, he began chemotherapy, which he had once a day every day and twice a day on the weekends, for two years. In June of 2023, he rang the “End of Chemo” bell and he is currently cancer free!
In April of 2023 at the age of 6, Beckett was diagnosed with a low-grade glioma brain tumor and spine cancer. Beckett endured two different chemotherapy treatments and got to ring the “End of Chemo” bell in August of 2024. Unfortunately, in February of this year, he relapsed and is currently on his third chemotherapy treatment, but his cancer has remained stable as of this month! Beckett is fighting this brain and spine cancer with strength, resilience, hope, and humbling belief in God.
Please keep these cancer warriors and their families, as well as our friends at Cal’s Angels, in your prayers and help make a difference to kids fighting cancer.
