This bar is too low. The best school leaders are both managers and instructional leaders. They read up. They care deeply about the details of what goes on inside classrooms.

A book cannot teach you how you teach. It can help you develop insights, and prompt you to reflect, which you can choose to apply to your classroom, or not. Ultimately it is the reader who is in the driver’s seat. To scale this to everyone, and add feedback, requires coaching.
