Over this past week, Russia used around 2,200 attack drones against Ukraine, more than 1,730 guided aerial bombs, and 106 missiles of various types, nearly half of them ballistic. Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Dnipro, as well as our border and frontline communities, are under fire almost every day. There was a massive strike on Kyiv that claimed the lives of 31 people and injured another 102, including four children. My condolences to their families and loved ones.

Every day, we must protect lives from these attacks. We already have the capabilities to effectively shoot down more than 90% of drones, but, unfortunately, not all ballistic missiles are intercepted. And it is ballistic missiles that Moscow is now leaning on to continue its war. And every day, we are working to strengthen air defense for Ukraine: through PURL and through our bilateral contacts with countries that have not joined PURL but do have the missiles we so urgently need. We are also strengthening our air defense through joint work with Europeans on anti-ballistic capabilities. We need answers from our partners to our requests for air defense. Every package of interceptor missiles provides real protection for lives. I thank all leaders who are finding ways to help in this particular area.

У Сумах триває ліквідація наслідків російського авіаудару. Росіяни застосували керовані авіабомби просто проти звичайних людей у центрі міста. Під завалами багатоповерхівки ще можуть бути люди. На жаль, станом на зараз відомо про чотирьох загиблих, серед них – дитина. Мої співчуття рідним і близьким. Ще 27 людей зазнали поранень, з яких шестеро – діти. У багатьох – важкі поранення.

Упродовж дня були російські удари по Запоріжжю, де внаслідок атаки дрона загинули дві людини та ще шість травмовані, зокрема й дитина. Харків атакував ворожий FPV-дрон, теж є травмовані в місті. Під обстрілами були громади Харківщини, Дніпровщини та Донеччини.

Потрібно, щоб партнери тиснули на Росію для того, щоб цей терор припинився. Ті, кого Росія почує, – це точно Сполучені Штати, це інші країни Великої сімки та Великої двадцятки і це Європа. Треба пам’ятати, що у Європи є інструменти тиску на цього агресора. І це передусім тиск на його енергоресурси, нафтовий флот, фінансову систему. Треба це використовувати, і треба робити кроки на посилення нашого захисту, передусім ППО. Дякую всім лідерам, які активні й не втрачають жодного дня.

⚡️🤬 Emergency response efforts are continuing in Sumy after a Russian airstrike.

Russian forces used guided aerial bombs against residential buildings in the city center. People may still be trapped under the rubble of an apartment block.

According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, three people are confirmed dead, including a child. 27 people were injured, including six children. Many suffered serious injuries.

She volunteered to defend Ukraine and gave the most precious thing she had—her life—for our freedom, independence, and future.
