Our National Society of Black Engineers Jr. Chapter was awarded the Golden Torch Award for Pre-College Program of the Year during a recent National Convention in Chicago. Over 20,000 attendees were present for the 50th anniversary of the NSBE.

Excited to be sworn in for my second term! As a child of immigrants, English language learner, and first woman in my family to graduate from college, I was proud to take the Oath of Office wearing my Nicaraguan huipil shirt. I am committed to protecting our diverse student body.
After visiting tribal communities across the country, one thing has been clear: when young people reclaim their native languages they reconnect deeply with who they are & where they come from.
That’s why when we invested in multilingualism we ensured we included native languages.
