@BadgerGoodger@TJGM_ Mechanically, it was ready. They didn't have the level of quality for animations they wanted to add it in time. They probably would have added it if they released SP DLC.
@kingdongu3x2@animaRFL@gta_np I said they want them to feel *similar* to play. Not actually be the same in terms of content. Once they cancelled singleplayer DLC, they stopped adding Online content to singleplayer. They're separate decisions.
@ReINKarnate7 It's scripted in the sense that they're applying force to the car when meeting a specific set of conditions, but where it can flip, how it flips, etc. is left up to the physics and other variables.
Full simulation would be too expensive on CPUs
@Maybe4M4@ReINKarnate7 That's how this game works. https://t.co/OvubLCTRC1 doesn't work like that. Any game trying to realistically physically simulate cars wouldn't do that. GTA V didn't even do this. Any rolling was almost entirely left up to their physics engine
Cairn aims to capture the fantasy of climbing! Exploring a vast mountain, charting your course up its crags, and the exhilaration of topping out for an unforgettable view!
Balance that heightened fantasy with our irl mountaineering experience to bring you a Peak climb!
@Foolishpiglet@ReINKarnate7 What part of what I said is wrong?
I'm just guessing at how they'd do it. Obviously I don't have access to their code. How would you do it without full simulation?
@ReINKarnate7 The game looks at the speed, what kind of car it is, if its turning, if a tire is out, and then applies a bit of force to get it to flip if the math shows that's what it should be doing. It can look nearly as good, sometimes better, than full simulation but it's a lot of tweaking
@BigSethTM@ziiwizz I also wouldn't doubt it changes a few lines down the road, but I feel like that's the limit for smaller, more missable decisions like these. Cuz you kinda gotta think just a little bit and remember to pick up the bricks. They weren't directing the player to pick it up.
@BigSethTM@ziiwizz I think it counts towards whatever cash you need next, and I bet you'll be allowed to fail any objectives that are meant to earn money.
@harrisd83@dalia1784 Apparently they sold international distribution rights for around $20M. It might make its money back by the time it's licensed to streaming services
