If attacks on reputation demand justice, why are you being so selective?

The Maldivian people have overwhelmingly rejected President Muizzu at yesterday’s polls, both for the referendum and the local council elections.
This verdict is the result of the obliteration of separation of powers, a failing economy, and the growing tyranny of the administration and the president, all of which the people have wholeheartedly rejected. What is clear from the debate and discussion of the past weeks is that there is appetite for real reform, and though President Muizzu’s referendum was rejected, we are clearly overdue for a rethink of our constitution and our systems of governance as a whole.
With the win comes a deep responsibility. We must work with the people toward finding solutions that serve all of us, and execute the mandate given to us wisely.
