This is so prominent in the Church - statements like "God's plan is perfect" or "God is using this to teach you something" is not helpful but very harmful!

Spiritual bypassing occurs all do often and we need to allow people to experience all emotions in the human experience!

More: “The cruelty you endured will never make sense because it was senseless.”

You’re not obligated to find a positive twist or make it make sense. There is peace in calling it what it is.

The solution to healing from abuse has nothing to do with whether or not the survivor forgives. The solution is holding abusers accountable so the abuse stops. This is the message we need
to pass on to the next generation, so abusers have consequences rather than enablers.
