If they say, "Come with us, let us lie in wait to shed blood...do not walk in the way with them...their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood."
A retired NASA engineer who had worked on the Space Shuttle program for 25 years was hired by SpaceX at age 62. He described the first week as the most disorienting experience of his professional life.
At NASA, a design change required 3 meetings, 2 committees, a review board, and 6 to 18 months of documentation. At SpaceX, his new supervisor said "if it works, build it. If it doesn't, change it by Friday."
He sat at his desk after the first day and called his wife. He told her he felt like a man who had been swimming with ankle weights for 25 years and someone just cut them off. He could move. He could decide. He could build something in the morning and test it in the afternoon. The constraint that he had accepted as the nature of aerospace engineering turned out to be the nature of bureaucracy.
Within 6 months he had contributed to more design iterations than he had completed in his last 5 years at NASA. Not because he was working harder. Because the time between having an idea and testing the idea collapsed from months to hours. The same brain. The same knowledge. A different operating system.
He described a specific moment where he proposed a modification to a Raptor engine component. At NASA, the proposal would have entered a queue. At SpaceX, the modification was machined by the end of the day and tested by the following morning. He watched his idea become a physical object in 18 hours. At NASA, 18 hours would not have been enough to schedule the first meeting to discuss whether to schedule a meeting.
He told an interviewer: "I didn't get smarter when I went to SpaceX. I got faster. The intelligence was always there. The system was in the way."
The difference between SpaceX and NASA is not talent. NASA has extraordinary talent. The difference is the time between a thought and a test. SpaceX compresses it. NASA elongates it. The same engineer produces 10x more at SpaceX than at NASA because the bottleneck was never the engineer. It was the meetings about the meetings about the work.
In August 1951, an Associated Press story introduced America to Dagwood, a remarkable cat from Portland, Oregon, who had spent six years playing ping-pong with her owner, Ted Matson. Matson originally allowed Dagwood onto the table simply to keep her from interrupting his games—but instead, she became part of them.
Her fascination with the ball made perfect sense. Cats are naturally wired to stalk, chase, and swat at fast-moving objects, instincts inherited from their predatory ancestors. But Dagwood took those instincts to another level, reportedly mastering both a one-pawed volley and a two-pawed smash.
Most cats might chase a ping-pong ball for a few minutes before losing interest. Dagwood kept returning to the table for six years, transforming a playful habit into an unusual talent that eventually became national news.
Excited to announce that all super intelligence organizations have now jointly agreed to the ultimate in AI/SI safety:
Moving all testing to Delta Airlines flights, where accessing the Internet is utterly impossible!
The homepage of the group raising money for a new 40,000 square foot Islamic facility near Plano, TX prominently features a Christian church being replaced by a mosque. Islamists are not here to “coexist” or assimilate. They are here to conquer and replace America’s Christian heritage with Sharia.

University debate, "Were humans built to eat meat?", same two chairs, same clock.
Vegan: "Anatomically we're closer to the gorilla than the lion. Flat molars, long gut. A gentle plant-eater with delusions."
Paleoanthropologist: "Then explain the acid."
Vegan: "Which acid?"
Paleoanthropologist: "Your stomach runs at a pH of about 1.5. A lion's sits nearer 3.6. Yours is stronger than the animal you've just been contrasted with, by a factor of about a hundred."
Vegan: "Stomach acid digests food."
Paleoanthropologist: "A cow's rumen sits at about 6.5. That's a compost heap with a pulse. Yours strips the zinc off a coin. Why would a gentle plant-eater carry that?"
Vegan: "Protection."
Paleoanthropologist: "From what? Lettuce doesn't fight back."
Vegan: "Bacteria."
Paleoanthropologist: "Which bacteria live in a leaf at a level that needs a pH of 1.5? Name the salad."
Vegan: "..."
Paleoanthropologist: "The animals that run acid as low as ours are the scavengers. Vultures. Things that arrive at a carcass on the second day and need to kill what's already living in it. We're not built like the lion. We're built like the bird that waits for the lion to finish."
Vegan: "Flattering."
Paleoanthropologist: "It's a picture of a species with a rock, a sharp flake and no claws. You don't get the fresh kill. You get the femur nobody could open, forty hours late, and you'd better have the acid for it."
Vegan: "Acid that strong is dangerous. Look how many people are on tablets for it."
Paleoanthropologist: "The only animal on earth that pays to switch its stomach off. You've spent sixty years pouring cereal onto a carcass digester and now you're medicating the digester for doing its job."
Vegan: "So your argument is that we're vultures."
Paleoanthropologist: "My argument is a number. Yours is a feeling about gorillas. The gorilla eats for most of the day and its gut is a fermentation tank. Yours is done in a few hours and runs on acid. One of you is designed for leaves."
Moderator: "Thirty seconds."
Paleoanthropologist: "She can keep them. I'm still waiting on the salad."
About two weeks ago a Florida pelican walked a quarter mile to a NOAA lab wrapped in fishing line and carrying a barbed hook in its wing, politely tapped on the door until it was discovered by scientists, patiently stood still while they operated on it, and then flew away.
Just to recap what happened here.
1) Illegal alien from Guinea is caught and released at the AZ border by the Biden admin in 2023.
2) He’s arrested by NYPD in June in sanctuary NYC for sexually assaulting a minor & is released.
3) Now charged w/ raping his female underage teen passenger as a rideshare driver in Maryland.
Failure at every level & yet another example of a crime that should have never been able to happen in the first place.
