Fellow Ugandans!
On behalf of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), and in my capacity as General Secretary, I extend warm and sincere congratulations to His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa @KagutaMuseveni, The President of the Republic of Uganda and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces,
The Chief of Defence Forces and Special Presidential Advisor on Special Operations/ PLU Chairman, Muhoozi Kainerugaba Museveni @mkainerugaba ,
and the great people of Uganda on the occasion of our 64th Independence Anniversary.
Sixty four years ago, our forefathers secured the political freedom that restored Uganda’s right to determine her own destiny. That achievement remains the foundation of our national pride though the task before us has grown larger.
Independence is no longer only the absence of foreign rule, it must also mean economic sovereignty,
the capacity of Uganda to feed her people, finance her development, and protect her resources without dependence on external will.
That sovereignty will not be granted but It will be built, It will be built by protecting public resources, enforcing the law without fear or favour, and closing the space in which corruption drains the wealth meant for schools, hospitals, roads, farms, security etc.
Corruption weakens the state, divides citizens, and undermines the very stability that freedom requires.
Fighting it is therefore not a side issue, it's central to social cohesion, political legitimacy, and lasting economic progress.
As we mark this anniversary, PLU reaffirms its commitment to a Uganda that is free, stable, and economically self reliant.
We salute the leadership of His Excellency the President,
the service of the Chief of Defence Forces and
the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, and the resilience of the Ugandan people.
May this Independence Day renew our shared resolve to defend the gains of freedom and to translate them into prosperity for every citizen.
For God and My Country.
Twalla Fadil

INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE.
Fellow Ugandans,
As we celebrate our Independence, we are reminded that freedom is not merely a historical achievement it is a responsibility that every generation must protect, strengthen and pass on to the next. Today, we honour the men and women whose courage and sacrifice secured Uganda's independence and we recommit ourselves to building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.
Independence Day gives us an opportunity to reflect on the Uganda we have inherited, the Uganda we are building today and the Uganda we want to leave for our children and grandchildren. It calls upon each of us to participate responsibly in the affairs of our country and to contribute, in whatever capacity we can, to its continued progress.
I extend my warmest Independence Day greetings to all Ugandans at home and abroad, especially our leaders, coordinators, mobilisers, young people, women, elders and all citizens who continue to serve and contribute to our nation.
We should never take peace and stability for granted. They remain an important foundation for development, investment, education, business and the wellbeing of our people. I therefore appreciate H.E. The President Rtd Gen @KagutaMuseveni for his leadership and our Chairman, Gen @mkainerugaba Museveni for his continued emphasis on patriotism, unity, discipline and service to Uganda.
A CALL FOR FULL PARTICIPATION
As we continue with the endorsement exercise for our generational leader, I call upon all Ugandans who wish to participate to come forward and take part fully, peacefully and responsibly.
This is an opportunity for citizens who support the exercise to make their voices heard through the established endorsement process. I encourage our coordinators, mobilisers, leaders and supporters across the country to reach out to communities, explain the exercise clearly and ensure that those who wish to participate have the opportunity to do so.
I equally encourage eligible citizens to make use of the PC online registration and endorsement platform, where applicable and to participate responsibly and in accordance with the law.
As PLU, our message throughout this exercise must remain clear: mobilise with discipline, engage with respect and participate peacefully.
To our mobilisers across the country, I urge you to remain disciplined, organised and respectful as you engage the people. Our strength should be demonstrated through peaceful mobilisation, responsible civic participation and service to our communities.
Uganda belongs to all of us. Its peace belongs to all of us. Its future belongs to all of us. And each generation has a responsibility to contribute to the Uganda it wants to see.
On this Independence Day, let us celebrate our freedom, protect our peace, strengthen our unity and participate responsibly in the affairs of our nation.
Happy Independence Day.
May God bless Uganda, bless our people and guide our nation towards continued peace, unity and prosperity.
