#AARTO delayed again and for good reason. These repeated postponements confirm what we have warned all along: the system is unworkable in its current form.
If a system can’t work, it shouldn’t be rolled out.

So… we’re supposed to follow the rules we can’t actually read?
#AARTO postponed to July 2026 and honestly, we can see why.
Kudos to anyone who can decipher these regulations, you’re doing better than the rest of us!
How can motorists comply when the rulebook looks like this?
🚨 OUTA is in court to close a major loophole.
Right now, only SOEs registered as companies fall under the delinquent director law. That means many board members who abuse their positions walk away untouched. We want the PFMA changed so ALL SOE boards can be held accountable.

Three #SETA's placed under administration, but this is not reform.
#OUTA warns:
* #INSETA left untouched
* Questionable administrators appointed by @ButiManamela
* @ServiceSETA, @CETASkillsDev and @LGSETA_official now under administration
* Deadline needed for credible boards and ethical CEOs
Billions for skills must NOT bankroll corruption.

For clarity: A CoC is required by law under the Occupational Health & Safety Act - issued by a qualified electrician. Which #SANS standard do @Eskom’s solar rules even align to? Only #CapeTown allows exporting to the grid - NOWHERE else in SA. And how exactly is an #Eskom worker getting hurt by solar that doesn’t touch their grid? Eskom isn’t the regulator. This is overreach dressed up as safety.
[BREAKING] OUTA WINS IN COURT!
Today, the Pretoria High Court ruled in our favour. The #Karpowership electricity generation licences have been declared invalid and overturned. A massive victory for transparency, accountability, and South Africa’s energy future.
Goodbye, Karpowerships.

VICTORY! The court has made it official - the @KarpowershipSA licences are scrapped. The deal is DONE. @NERSA_ZA will pay #OUTA’s legal costs. 3 years of pressure. Zero accountability - until now.
We showed up. We held the line. And today, #SouthAfrica won.
Here’s our Accountability Team, standing by as justice was delivered.

MUST READ: More heads roll in @Dotransport. @RAF_SA board dissolved. Suspended execs. A R900m licence card contract heads to court - after #OUTA blew the whistle.
This is what #accountability looks like when pressure meets action.

We warned about irregularities in these @myNSFAS student accommodation contracts back in December. At least this board is taking the advice seriously and investigating. The previous leadership ignored warnings, students, and landlords. Now it’s time to follow through and scrap the deals.

READ: #OUTA has decided to publicly release its investigation report on fraudulent roadworthy certificates. In another development, the Minister @Dotransport, @BarbaraCreecy, requested the @RSASIU to investigate the widespread corruption at vehicle testing stations (VTSs) contained in the report.
https://t.co/3GjbqjxyAw
#OUTA fought in court for this not to be implemented, after we warned @MbalulaFikile
and @Dotransport AND @ParliamentofRSA that the #AARTO Amendment Act could not be implemented successfully because SA lacks competent structures and efficient systems.
But just like with #etolls, OUTA was ignored.
Passing laws that can't be implemented destroys your legitimacy, @PresidencyZA and @GovernmentZA.
AARTO was doomed from the start.
We need road safety to take priority, and a minister that will fix DoT and this system. Somebody who can instill trust. We hope @BarbaraCreecy_ will engage with us to fix this.
We urge the Minister of Higher Education sweeps clean at compromised SETA’s such as INSETA, ServicesSETA & others. The levels of incompetence, maladministration & corruption within the SETA environment is excessive. Time to replace entire boards and Exec managers of some SETA’s
It is time for Minister @Dr_NobuhleN to appoint new boards and executives. This should happen ASAP. Our country can not afford to be looted by the SETAs any longer.

QUESTION: We’ve heard some whispers that something might be up (again) with the #driverslicencecard system.
Have you had any trouble renewing or collecting your card this year?
Drop a comment below and let us know what’s happening on your end.
Your experience helps us connect the dots.
#OUTA has formally written to Minister of @Dotransport, @BarbaraCreecy_ , requesting urgent feedback on 3 critical issues affecting motorists:
- The extension of the driver’s licence card validity period (we have been advocating for a 10-year validity period since 2022).
- The ongoing breakdown of the country’s sole licence card printing machine.
- Concerns surrounding the cancellation of the tender awarded to Idemia for the new licence card machine.
Licence chaos: OUTA wants answers from Minister Creecy.

READ: Approved in 2008, the BDM project aimed to shift South Africa to digital TV for better signal quality and freed-up spectrum. Years of delays and many millions of Rands later, up to 4,5 million poor households are still without the promised set-top boxes (STBs), meaning they could lose access tot television. Where's the outrage? In a new report, #OUTA urges @ParliamentofRSA to ensure accountability for this mess.
