For clarity: A CoC is required by law under the Occupational Health & Safety Act - issued by a qualified electrician. Which #SANS standard do @Eskom’s solar rules even align to? Only #CapeTown allows exporting to the grid - NOWHERE else in SA. And how exactly is an #Eskom worker getting hurt by solar that doesn’t touch their grid? Eskom isn’t the regulator. This is overreach dressed up as safety.

#OUTA fought in court for this not to be implemented, after we warned @MbalulaFikile
and @Dotransport AND @ParliamentofRSA that the #AARTO Amendment Act could not be implemented successfully because SA lacks competent structures and efficient systems.
But just like with #etolls, OUTA was ignored.
Passing laws that can't be implemented destroys your legitimacy, @PresidencyZA and @GovernmentZA.
AARTO was doomed from the start.
We need road safety to take priority, and a minister that will fix DoT and this system. Somebody who can instill trust. We hope @BarbaraCreecy_ will engage with us to fix this.
