Wow. Dokter Meryl Nass heeft een enorme juridische overwinning behaald. Dit schept een baanbrekend precedent. Ik ben ook beschuldigd door een aantal artsen van het 'verspreiden van desinformatie'. Dat kon de afgelopen jaren namelijk gewoon. De Inspectie @IGJnl had er zelfs een speciaal 'meldpunt' voor opgericht. Acht artsen hebben me beschuldigd, een bewijs was helemaal niet nodig. Het ging er alleen maar om dat kritische artsen hun mond zouden houden. Dat laatste is in mijn geval niet gelukt. Het was enorm beangstigend om full force vervolgd te worden, dat wel. Maar ik besefte er juist door dat ik door moest gaan met me uitspreken, koste wat kost, omdat anders het totalitarisme gewonnen zou hebben.

Want totalitarisme is pas compleet als ook de laatste kritische stem gaat zwijgen. Ik ben gelukkig niet de enige huisarts die niet ophield zich uit te spreken. Als artsen gecensureerd worden, verketterd, vervolgd, kun je eigenlijk wel weten hoe laat het is. Ik dank verreweg de meeste van mijn volgers voor hun steun de afgelopen jaren. De volledige waarheid over Corona is nog lang niet boven water, maar wat er gebeurd is heeft velen bewust gemaakt dat vrijheid (van meningsuiting) een groot goed is en het waard om voor te vechten.
