To every Chelsea fan chanting “Maresca out”, please understand what this actually means.
First and foremost, your view and the owners’ view aren’t the same. You want him gone cause of a dip in form, they want someone they can control.
You’re not just turning on a manager. You’re advertising our instability. You’re telling every serious coach that this club won’t protect them. That patience doesn't exist here. And with this model, we will never attract an elite manager imo.
Do you really think someone like Pep looks at this setup and feels inspired? Do you think he sees a club that backs its managers, or one that interferes, panics, and eats them alive when they make certain demands? This is exactly why Enrique didn’t walk through the door. And it’s exactly how we ended up settling for someone like Potter.
I've actually stopped being angry. But what I can't control is the pain.
Pain from loving a club that keeps getting in its own way. Pain from watching progress suffocated by interference. Pain from knowing we shout about "standards" while actively making the environment unworkable for the manager.
I’m tired. Tired of burning bridges before they’re even built. Tired of acting shocked when good managers choose stability elsewhere. This club deserves better but so does any manager brave enough to try and fix it.
Right now, we’re making that impossible.
We were sold a vision of trust and patience, of moving away from the hire and fire policy. Instead, we've had managers more often than Arsenal have bottled the league.
This cycle isn’t an accident anymore. Maybe it is our identity.
We are Chaos FC after all.
Hello @ebehdad
You follow me, and I’ve never tagged you before in a tweet but today is the day.
Sacking Enzo Maresca may be the stupidest thing you ever elect to do, and trust me, you’ve done quite a lot since taking over Chelsea.
From FOS issues to refusing to go all in on Earl’s Court for financial reasons, you are clipping Chelsea’s ambition. We are the biggest club in London, and World Champions. What you’re doing is unacceptable.
If I ever wanted to kill myself, I’d climb your ego and jump to your IQ.
Before considering removing Maresca, remove Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart. They are the ones that have constantly left this team in need of reinforcements. Maresca is a once in a generation coach, and the fact that he will likely replace Pep while you bring on some new random “upcoming” manager is beyond me.
Step down this pedestal of narcissistic greed and arrogance and accept that you made a mistake. Many of us did in backing this vision of Chelsea, and now you’re truly taking the piss. The fact that you cannot handle that the gaffer spoke out about your lack of support is so telling. The fact some wankers in the sporting team are showing him Matt Law clips tells me how insecure you all are.
You have spent your entire time at Chelsea trying to be the ‘alpha’, but you’re really just a walking insecurity that everyone tolerates out of pity and necessity.
Either fix up, show confidence in Maresca by extending his contract and buying who HE wants, or sell to Boehly. Enough is enough.
Here’s hoping we have a better New Year. Cheers.
I don’t care how they paint Maresca, who tactically outclassed PSG last summer, who won the most lucrative trophy outside the Champions League for Chelsea.
I also know who recruited the players that we are having to deal with at this time as they develop. #ClearlakeOut
