When I got to Chicago in the summer of 1985, Mike Ditka and the Chicago Bears were king. Coach Ditka set the tone for a team that was punishing, dominant, and fun โ and the city loved him for it. I'm thinking of the Ditka family and Bears fans everywhere on the passing of a legend.
โA man who cannot be enticed by money or intimidated by the threat of jail or death has two of the strongest weapons that anyone has to offer.โ ~ Rev. Jesse Jackson
Jewish Americans have helped shape this country and this state for the better in ways we see every day โ in our communities, our culture, and our history.
I'm proud to celebrate that contribution and stand steadfast in love and support for our Jewish community.
