To emphasize the cruelty, hypocrisy and stupidity of New York City's mayor mamdani, here's a hypothetical tweet he might post about 9/11:
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks 25 years since the horrific terrorist attacks of 9/11 On that day, al Qaeda killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.
The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the devastating, ongoing wars launched by the U.S in Afghanistan and Iraq, in which hundreds of thousands of people were killed. more than 170,000 people were killed directly in the war in Afghanistan, In Iraq alone, independent documentation records more than 200,000 civilian deaths from violence since the 2003 invasion.
That suffering intensified with every bomb dropped on a civilian neighborhood, every airstrike that killed a family, every prisoner subjected to abuse, and every community destroyed in the name of the war on terror. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars funded these wars.
To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.
I feel sorry for you New Yorkers that this is your mayor.
Shame on him.
Thanks Julia Gillard and Labor for the 2013 Sex Discrimination glow-up. You quietly added “gender identity,” deleted “man” and “woman,” and a decade later a women-only app is smashed in court for noticing a male.
Women’s spaces are now optional. A man’s feelings outrank a woman’s boundaries. Object, and you become the problem.
Roxanne Tickle’s claim is now case law.
That is your legacy, Julia: women and girls told their sex is negotiable, their safety is secondary, and saying no makes them the villain. Traitor to women.
Shame on you!
Turkiye rejecting a cruise ship of gay men tourists wanting to spend pink dollars and euros in their country. Homophobia is strangely illogical.
Ignore the Guardian's distorting headline, it's a gay men's cruise.
