How improving COPD treatment in primary care could reduce demand on hospitals and emergency departments- excited to be sharing the outcomes of my most recent research. Investing in primary care saves the system money and reduces health system demand https://t.co/nlqXdGK0s7
@willfalk Certainly an interesting decision and the details of the transformation aren't very clear (at least to me as of now). I've done some writing on the anticipated effects of centralized organizational structures and innovation that may be of interest: https://t.co/7mxuIsafTl
@ottawacity the new OC transpo lanes on Albert Street are ridiculous. Traffic stopped only because of the line up to turn left on Booth Street… let’s be more sensible as the entire city is under construction.
Anybody saying that what happened tonight to NFL player Damar Hamlin is because of the COVID vaccine, is so wrong. Stop making up lies to fit your narrative. It’s disgusting.
@agrudniewicz@ConversationCA@Telfer_uOttawa Thanks Agnes! The manuscript was a labour of love over the last few years. I am hoping the Conversation article can act as a nice source of KT!
Our health system needs solutions to divert patients from the ER and from becoming hospitalized. Patients with COPD are some of the biggest users of these resources- Best Care can help improve QALY and save the money! https://t.co/YLeDSQdgLg via @ConversationCA@Telfer_uOttawa
My most recent research on the cost-effectiveness of Best Care integrated disease management for patients with COPD. Best Care improves patient outcomes at a reduced cost to the health system. Read more here: https://t.co/db2N0RDs8w
1/3 NACI recommends that people eligible for fall boosters, esp. those at increased risk for severe outcomes from #COVID19, should not delay planned vaccination in anticipation of a bivalent Omicron-containing #COVID19Vaccine.
Do COVID vaccines reduce transmission?
Why yes they do
And no surprise
Latest evidence finds that:
Vaccinated folks with breakthrough infections?
Less likely to transmit than unvaccinated folks experiencing their first infection

@zchagla It's an interesting position- I do wonder if the vaccine mandate had anything todo with the capacity of LHSC and the huge influx of students that UWO brings to London and the surrounding area? Is it possible that capacity planning had anything todo with this decision?
@Informatician@Ester__Island I use Zotero and find that it's functionality and user interface is quite pleasant. It is also fantastic that they now have their iOS app (iPad/ iPhone) which has helped me digitize my workflow.
@CharlotteJD@AcademicChatter I use zotero as my reference manager and an app called “papership” on my iPad so that I can read and annotate on my tablet. Works seemlessly with Zotero.
1/2- We need to be careful about labeling our health system as “collapsing” or “failing” - such rhetoric may give license to a fundamental shift away from our understanding of universal healthcare. The pessimistic side of me thinks it’s more of a controlled demolition…
