@RuckTheWRU The strategy is clear, 4 pro teams, stable and secure funding for 3 years, focus all key investment on player development and facilities. Make an agreement with private owners urgently. Ask in return to have a real partnership to work together to attract investment and sponsors.

Welsh rugby needs to learn from this. It has been a brutal 2 years, as bad as I have seen in the last 8. The game off the field is on its knees, whoever comes in will need a huge level of resilience, a focus on doing and delivering. Importantly a real understanding of the game.

Welsh rugby is showing real progress.

Regions picking up wins last weekend. Wales showing good shape in attack and defence that indicates real quality in the coaching staff. Confidence growing. Even Jamie Roberts WRU board member praising the progress.

Grass Roots still producing talent. Increased investment into the pathways. Wales U20 looking strong.

So the question stands.

If the system keeps producing players and progress, why change it?

Back the regions. Back the pathway. Let Welsh rugby grow.

@michelrouxjr @downatfineleg We are in a difficult place at the moment and will take at least two World Cup cycles to get anywhere near competitive. Seriously need to invest in developing and mentoring talent and keep 4 regions.

Wales need to keep 4 regions whatever happens to bring the younger players through. If current WRU intend to improve the path way where will these players play. Look at ways to improve the regions not cut them. Everyone work together. There will be a few tough years but If we don’t get this right we could well end up in tier 2 for a long time.
