Today, many were shocked by yet another video of the drone “safari” Russians are carrying out against civilians in Kherson. A Russian drone deliberately hunted down a man selling vegetables and detonated right next to him. The Russians even admitted to the crime, showing zero regret and openly boasting about tormenting people. The man was wounded in the blast. Every single day, ordinary people in Kherson face these Russian "safaris."
The world must see this. It must see every piece of evidence that Russia has gone mad and that its soldiers take pleasure in killing and abusing civilians. Without pressure on Russia, the dismantling of its capacity for aggression, and real security guarantees, it is simply impossible to imagine the world being able to coexist with this evil. We must remain resolute in defending life. We must act and support life in ways that force Russia to seriously think about peace rather than expanding the range of its drones.
This is not just about Ukraine. Russia’s campaign against human life must be stopped here in Ukraine before it spreads further. Finland and Kazakhstan, the Baltic states and Poland, the countries of the South Caucasus, Romania, and Moldova—all should work together to ensure real security guarantees and bring Russia’s war to an end. Peace is needed, which requires cooperation among everyone in the world who truly values peace. Thank you to everyone standing with Ukraine!

Medics Find Note in Fallen Soldier's Pocket, It Wasn't for His Family, It Was for His Dog
For months, military drones circling above the front lines captured glimpses of an unlikely friendship in the rubble. In frame after frame, a soldier was seen sharing his limited rations and warmth with a stray dog that refused to leave his side.
When a massive assault finally claimed the soldier's life, medics found him exactly where the drone had last recorded him.
Tucked inside his jacket was a handwritten note, not a message to a spouse or parents, but a plea for his companion. It read: "I'll fight for my friend. If this takes me, please leave my jacket in my hole, winter is coming, and he will come for warmth. P.S. If you can catch him, his favorite is head scratches."

I buried a friend a few days ago. Her name was Anastasi Kolinko. She was a warrior, a Ukrainian Marine. She had no family left. Her father was killed. Her mother was killed. She was a junior sergeant in the Marines, and she stood her ground when her country needed her most.
I paid 1,200 dollars to have her laid to rest because there was no one else left to do it. She had cancer, but before that she fought for Ukraine in 2022. From mid-2023 until December 1st, she fought for her life with the same courage she showed on the battlefield. I did everything I could to take care of her. I loved her very much. She was kind, strong, and deeply devoted to her country.
She was wounded and still volunteered to fight in Kherson. That tells you everything about who she was. She did not fight for recognition or reward. She fought because she believed in Ukraine and in protecting others, even when it cost her everything.
This is one of the hardest things I have ever experienced in my military career. I sat alone with her in the funeral hall. There were no crowds, no speeches, no family members standing beside me. When I rode with her to her burial, I held her hand. I did not let her be alone.
I threw three shovels of dirt onto her grave, alone. When the soil was placed over her, I gave her a final military salute. There was no one else there to witness it. I cried, not out of weakness, but because this is what this war takes from people who never should have had to give so much.
This is not politics. This is not narrative. This is the real cost of this war. This is what sacrifice looks like.
We cannot quit. Victory is coming.
Suffocation bags, electric shocks to the genitals, broken fingers, needles driven under fingernails, and the forced removal of pro-Ukrainian tattoos.
In russian pretrial detention centers and penal colonies, this is referred to as a “gentleman’s set” — a standard package of torture used against Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians, United24 reports, citing a study by the Memorial Human Rights Defence Centre.
Nearly all released Ukrainians report systematic torture, humiliation, and a complete absence of medical care.
In January 2025, Memorial’s monitoring mission conducted 40 interviews with former prisoners of war, civilian hostages, and relatives of victims across eight regions of Ukraine.
russia holds Ukrainians in a network of penal colonies and pretrial detention centers, where it has “refined” methods of violence over many years.
At SIZO-2 in Russia’s Ryazan region, investigators used the so-called “gentleman’s set”: rubber batons, electric shock devices, needles driven under fingernails, suffocation bags, and containers of ice-cold water to revive victims between torture sessions.
In penal colonies — for example, IK-10 in Mordovia — captives were forced to stand motionless for hours, beaten on the heels and genitals, and set upon by dogs. Victims suffered gangrene, severe injuries, and permanent disabilities.
At the Kizel pretrial detention center, sexual violence was employed: electric shocks to the genitals and anus, and forced self-mutilation — cutting off tattoos with knives and wire.
Many people die as a result of such torture. In 2022, a Polish civilian died after being tortured in the Taganrog detention center.
At SIZO-3 in Kizel, the mayor of Dniprorudne, Yevhen Matveiev, died. His body was returned to his family in December 2024. According to https://t.co/ppO6zTaYqq, Ukrainian journalist Viktoriia Roshchyna was also tortured to death there.
russian officials, security officers, and commanders must bear criminal and personal responsibility for creating and sustaining this system of torture — a system that breaks people both physically and psychologically.
