Abandoned cat Izzy rescued after 12 days trapped upside down behind boiler with no food or water

One-year-old domestic shorthair crossbreed Izzy was left behind in an empty house in Inglemire, Hull, when her owners moved out.

She became wedged tightly between the boiler and the wall, trapped upside down for nearly two weeks.

A contractor discovered the terrified cat during a routine check and called the RSPCA.

Rescuers freed her; she was severely dehydrated and traumatised but alive.

Now at the RSPCA’s Bridlington cattery, Izzy is slowly recovering but remains sensitive, easily overstimulated and defensive.

She needs a calm, adult-only home with an experienced owner who can give her time, space and minimal handling while she learns to trust again.
