@markbutcher72@SkyCricket@WardyShorts@StuartBroad8 Ha! True, it just doesn't make sense to me! Only justification I can see is for a higher evening TV audience, which won't last if the pink ball has a negative impact on the cricket.
@SkyCricket@WardyShorts@markbutcher72@StuartBroad8 With regard to the pink ball also. If it's to allow more day night matches and encourage spectators to go after work, would on the gate tickets be released for half a day or the last session and priced appropriately?
The last time #Arsenal reached the Champions League final, mighty #Boro reached the UEFA Cup final. On the Gazette sports desk we were seriously (but discreetly) looking at the logistics and finance of how to get to Monaco for the Super Cup final v Gunners or #Barcelona.

There is nothing about this that we should accept. We all must reject this. This is our government
2008 - Eddie Howe is the first English manager to win either the FA Cup or League Cup since Harry Redknapp with Portsmouth in 2008, while he’s the first to do so in the League Cup specifically since Steve McClaren with Middlesbrough in 2004. Elation.
"If I had to fly to the moon I'd take Tony Mowbray, my captain, with me. He's a magnificent man,” Bruce Rioch, the then Middlesbrough manager, in 1988. Famous quote that led to the title of a famous fanzine. Mowbray, born in nearby Saltburn, played with total commitment in 424 games for Boro (10th= in all-time list), captained them at 22, helped them up and later managed them for 153 games. West Brom manager bound to get a good reception at Boro tonight. And great to see Mowbray back in management. #MIDWBA
Well - the entire crew of season two of #AdamRichmanEatsBritain has just been robbed. We were driving from Birmingham to London, stopped at a rest, stop in Barnet for exactly 4 1/2 minutes to use the restroom, and came back to our van completely cleaned out.
All of the filming equipment is gone.
Both of my suitcases with all of my possessions are gone.
Backpack with my laptop and all of my medications are gone .
And to make matters worse, because I have trackers on some of my possessions, and because of my laptop, I can see where these things are. But we have to wait here for the police. The rest stop won’t release the security footage until the police arrive.
It’s been almost an hour.
I’m going to share a few of the locations where I can see my possessions.
Reward for anything found.
I discuss whether Finland exists in my new Conspiracy Tour, kicking off mid Sept all over the country. But if it does, this is why I love it…

Absolute carnage during the #MiddlesbroughRiots today, where we saw violence from both sides.
First - we saw cars and bins set on fire, windows at the courts, town hall, Mima & Teesside Uni smashed up by the rioters. They went street by street in the residential areas when failing to break police lines near the mosques, smashing windows of cars & people’s homes. We saw them then throw glass bottles at people in the street.
Then we witnessed a gang of masked males, apparently seeking retribution against the rioters, beating up men on Linthorpe Road - I assume who they thought must be rioters.
One gang of 8/9 walked by us, armed with wooden planks & sharp weapons. With the police nowhere to be seen in many parts of #Middlesbrough we were then stopped & asked if we were “EDL” by one group & had to show our press passes to avoid any upset. It didn’t feel safe to be there, so we pulled out and heard some of our colleagues also pulled out after having cameras smashed.

Before all that happened, we filed this report for @itvtynetees earlier:
The place set alight last night was Citizens Advice, Sunderland. Its manager this morning told me they’re devastated and now trying to figure out how to help the people they were supposed to see #sunderland
