Champions of Europe !
🦅❤️💙🦅
Congratulations to Oliver, to the staff, as well of course the players .
Huge thank you to the fans for the incredible support, the town has been a carnival and the stadium was simply electric - You are the best .🦅
@HLTCO I’m a Celtic supporter and was there today, but live in London and have had Palace season tickets for years. My son Max is a massive Palace fan and was chatting to you last week. If you fancy a trip to Celtic Park next season then happy to sort that out for you. 🍀🦅
CHAMPIONS AGAIN!
🏆 Celtic are crowned Champions of Scotland for the FIFTH season in a row!
Huge congratulations to Martin O’Neill and the Bhoys
#Champion5 | #CelticFC🍀🏆
Today is the last that Palace fans can say that we are the FA Cup holders.
A day that will live with all of us forever. The realisation of a dream; generations of hoping and praying turned into euphoric reality.
Wembley shook and it was beautiful. ❤️💙
I hate Arsenal, irrationally, as I explained at weekend. But my argument over VAR with them and West Ham was largely goal was given, and about 20 Arsenal fouls in box were ignored at same time. And that's me being irrational.
In Scotland, I get desperation for Hearts to win. In on it. But that Motherwell handball against Celtic is not only clearest you'll see, but also involved another foul in same action, as in elbowing a guy in head.
The reaction is mental.
What do people want VAR to do here 😂😂😂
The morning after the night before.
Firstly, it’s 2026, let’s stop using still images to try and confirm anything that happens on a football pitch. Video brings context.
Secondly, and related to point one, for fucks sake use some common sense. An image showing two balls and an English Premier League badge on the Motherwell shirt is actually being circulated by some people as “proof” of what happened 😂
Thirdly, unless you are genuinely blind, I think we can all agree on one point now. The ball absolutely DOES hit his hand, the evidence of that in slow motion and zoomed in, is absolutely clear.
Fourth, the distance on the ball is because Nicholson does indeed head it, but he heads it with his hand between his head and the ball. Again that is absolutely clear when you watch it zoomed in and in slow mo, IMO.
So, and this is only my opinion of course, the only debate to be had is about whether the hand is in an unnatural position or if his hand has ended up there because of contact from Trusty.
For me, whilst his arm isn’t making his silhouette bigger, you can’t really say it being on his forehead is a natural position 🤷♂️
Whether a nudge by Trusty pushed his arm up there is I suppose up for some debate but that’s pretty subjective, again IMO, and could be argued either way.
So, despite the initial furore, by me included, I genuinely can see why this has been given.
In terms of “the worst VAR decision of all time”it’s not even close to being as bad as either of the penalties Hearts didn’t get just three days ago at the same ground.
Most neutrals, me included, want Hearts to win the league, and that incident last night was massively disappointing, but I think we all need to calm down a bit.
What it has shown though, is that we desperately need more and better camera angles if we are stuck with VAR, and we also need much clearer and consistent decisions on handball cos we are making an absolute arse of dealing with it up here.
Some refs give what others don’t, and it’s incredibly frustrating (again see Fir Park on Sat night).
That’s my 2p worth anyway, all I know for sure is it’s a very good time to be a football forum owner 🤪
Amazing clip, this.
An all-timer of an overhead kick, every single Celtic fan behind the goal losing their minds, the keeper sprinting across the picture, the crackle in the audio. Perfection.
What a 20th birthday night for my lad, Max Checketts, an amazing night at Selhurst Park for us. On our way to Leipzig!
Also happy 30th to my nephew @CheckettsDJ, now World Cup ready!
@tirnaog_09 I think there were more than 72,000 in there, it was incredible that it wasn’t all ticket, but then we were happy to be able to be at the game! It was so packed my Dad had to put my younger brother @DaChecketts on top of the pie stall in the Celtic end!
@tirnaog_09 Thanks for posting this again, I love seeing my Dad in this, and all my kids love it too. Mum’s not too well at the moment, so I will show this to her to give her a lift. She was there at the time and said it was the most amazing occasion either of them could ever imagine x
Morning all, I need no encouragement to repost this clip of Celtic fan and surgeon, the late Dr Roger Checketts meeting his heroes on TV. He saved lives, he made lives better and seemed such a modest man.
@Crazylegs67@stusfootyflash I was there for the league game the week after. As the players came out of the tunnel the Jungle was a sea of red cards. Absolutely brilliant!
