While the front 9 is shut for 9 months during our restoration project, it’s a great time to work on thatch levels across the course. Koroing the tees by @turftonics is a great way to get rid of the thatch and level the teeing surface. @StGeorgesHillGC 👌
All set for the spring meeting this weekend @StGeorgesHillGC. Exciting restoration project starting in a few months that will transform this amazing course to another level @bschneider126@evalu18golf
That time of year again where the tree thinning program starts @StGeorgesHillGC. Great work by Coombes forestry and the greens team opening up the views between the blue and green course. Big year for the course with major plans starting.
I would imagine most visitors skip the Green Course at St. George’s Hill but they are missing a little gem if they do. Tighter in spots than the Red/Blue, however it is not a “warm up course” and has every bit of the Harry Colt genius that the main course does.
Spring meeting weekend @StGeorgesHillGC. Greenkeeping team doing a great job doing working split shifts getting the course recut ready for tomorrows play. Great firm & fast conditions
The tree thinning program has made a big difference to holes 12th, 13th, 14th & 15th @StGeorgesHillGC with so much more light and air movement added to help improve surfaces & Heather regeneration. Our 13th fairway never got much sunlight until now.
Great work @turftonics and the greenkeeping team @WokingGolf for some long days getting all our maintenance done. 600 tons of sand out on all surfaces ready for the golf season ahead 👌
@ScottGardnerCM@turftonics@WokingGolf We used redhill 37 sand and just used a static brush to work the sand in and then used the irrigation system to wash sand off the plant to finish.
@bluewoof@StGeorgesHillGC@SurreyWT I have been transplanting heather for years. It takes a lot of time, knowledge and prep work but it provides an instant visual impact straight away. The hardest part is finding a heather site to extract from. As long as you have the right equipment to cut and transport the turfs.
Great work and vision yet again by the greens team @StGeorgesHillGC. Hard work over the Christmas period transplanting heather from off site onto our 9th hole. Visually better off the tee and brings the heather back into play. Great working with @SurreyWT again.
