I started a fantastic new job today at Kivu International. It’s a brilliant, UK-based social enterprise which works around the world in politically switched-on and technically savvy ways to support locally-led international development.

Ouahbi could get the likes of Boufal, Rabbaj and Zabiri on a plane to New Jersey. Bad luck for those who are hurt, but no point carrying a load of injured players, and Morocco has plenty of talent back at home to take their place.

Ten years ago, this was straight up far right Nazi shit. Comparing migrants and refugees to Nazi invaders and inciting violence against them.
Now it’s the US Defense Secretary saying it quite casually.
Dark times.
Just realised my three favourite songs all convey exhaustion.
“It wears me out.”
(Fake Plastic Trees, Radiohead)
“She says she’s tired of life. She must be tired of something.”
(Round Here, Counting Crows)
“You wear me out.”
(Country Feedback, REM)
Uncanny…

It’s something the @guardian do every time a major tournament rolls around but this guide to every single one of the 1,248 players involved in this summer’s World Cup is an incredible resource.
Bravo to everyone involved in putting it together. 👏

@ManyATrueNerd Am sympathetic to that view. But would you have any time for ‘the man of many turns’ - i.e. changing direction and shifting character, both of which Odysseus does - which may be even closer to the Greek?
@etiennefd I think the noun ‘turn’ can do the same in English. Literally (of movement): ‘the captain made a starboard turn’. Metaphorically (of an act, impersonation or routine): ‘a clever turn where he feigns beggary’.
