Today I am announcing that @FineGael will develop a new blueprint for a Unified Island for our Ard Fheis this November
The work will be led by the Fine Gael Northern Ireland Engagement Group and facilitated by the very excellent, academic Professor Deirdre Heenan.
@noobstealthdev@AlFerNav@usembthehague I agree 100% enterprise Ireland is a government backed development body for indigenous Irish companies. It's Europe's largest venture capitalist backer. Which is crazy given the size of Ireland and its domestic economy.
@noobstealthdev@AlFerNav@usembthehague You are making the perfect argument for Europe to complete the single market. We need the banking and financial markets union completed. Europeans have the brains and skills, we just need access to the capital.
@usembthehague We in Europe are very disappointed in our so called allies in the USA. You threaten to invade European sovereign territory & hit us with unfair taxes. You proudly proclaim America 1st. The USA is no longer our equal partner. You are rival power, Trying to undermine the EU.
Seriously: the number of online Irish “nationalists” who don’t realise that transfers are decided by individual ordinary voters and not the actual parties is very suspicious. It’s almost as if they’ve never actually been to Ireland.
In this article @EmmaCDeSouza sets out what Northern Ireland would bring to the table economically in the event of unification. Also, I think the economy in the North would grow faster within a New Ireland and would catch up over time :- the euro (cheaper mortgages and business loans), with the IDA and low corporate tax (more investment and jobs), with higher public sector pay and pensions (more money in people's pockets and in the shops etc) https://t.co/YsPrbqMYkv
