Wes Streeting says he “won’t forgive” doctors for striking.
But you know who won’t forgive you, @wesstreeting? The public - when they realise you caused this crisis.
Doctors in England are saving lives for £17.56/hr, asking for £22.67/hr - the rate we used to be paid in 2008. Streeting could have stopped this dispute. He chose not to.
Wes Streeting broke his promises to doctors. He delayed for weeks. He offered doctors a pay award just 0.9% above inflation; a deal so poor it would take over 20 years to restore our pay to 2008 levels.
Doctors do not want to strike but they’ve been left with no choice but to act. These strikes are entirely of the Government’s making.
Streeting can stop the strikes at any point by offering a credible path to full pay restoration.
The Nat Ins hammer blow to NHS GPs is serious. We are part of the NHS family & cannot increase our charges to cover this rise because…. we don’t charge our patients. Hearing from hundreds of practices now about the tens of thousands of ££ they will lose https://t.co/XkVNM4dHzO

BREAKING: Over a dozen former Trump administration officials sign a letter agreeing with ex-Chief of Staff John Kelly's assessment that Donald Trump is a "fascist" who would govern like a dictator.
This is nightmare news for MAGA...
"This is who Donald Trump is. We were sadly not surprised by what General Kelly had to say,” the letter reads. "We applaud General Kelly for highlighting in stark details the danger of a second Trump term. Like General Kelly, we did not take the decision to come forward lightly.
"We are all lifelong Republicans who served our country," it goes on. "However, there are moments in history where it becomes necessary to put country over party. This is one of those moments."
"Everyone should heed General Kelly’s warning," the signatories added.
The officials include: Kevin Carroll, a former senior counselor to Kelly, former assistant secretary of homeland security Elizabeth Neumann, former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, former Department of Homeland Security chief of staff Miles Taylor, former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, and Vice President Mike Pence's former press secretary Alyssa Farah Griffin.
Please retweet and ❤️ to thank these officials for bravely speaking out — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a new pro-democracy social network that is exploding in popularity because Twitter and Facebook are trying to stop its growth — which is only making Tribel grow even faster. Why?
They know that Donald Trump is unfit to be President of the United States.
