the superintendent should have been more explicit in providing a rationale to the concerned community and possibly provide a forum to air those concerns. By not allowing the community to have a voice in the school they turned to the public forum to vent and share grievances.

There is a role for school to play but I'm not certain what it looks like

#EDLD658 One of the unfortunate challenges we face is the misunderstanding of bullying. Too often parents call mean behavior - bullying. This minimizes the true impact of that bully behavior has on marginalized and minority students...truly an issue that has no easy answers

@MontanaMorgan75 I agree monitoring is one thing but with the relative newness of Social Media - doing anything about it is a real challenge. Especially when districts don't own account rights. We have a FB site that uses our school name but not affiliated with us w/ no recourse for the district
