The purpose of government is to organise our society to allow us all the best life possible.
My colleagues & I have taken a huge gamble to set up @thenerve_news. We’re trying to build a new independent publication from the ground up. Social media is our only distribution for now.
Sharing this article in your networks would make a huge difference. Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
Peter Mandelson worked every day to try and prevent a redistribution of wealth and power in Britain.
That is why he was rewarded with a top job.
Our political system is built by - and for - a corrupt clique. We will carry on campaigning for a society that works for us all.
Remember - the wildfires, the droughts, floods, heatwaves happening across the world are within "safe" climate change (1.2°C warming). We are on course to double that.
No time to waste. #ActOnClimate#climate#energy#renewables
Oh look ! Turns out the author of the ‘BBC bias’ memo, appointed by Johnson & Gibb, is a right-wing lobbyist paid mega-bucks by US tech & media giants who not only donate millions to Trump but are also invested in expanding "the emerging pro-Trump media empire"👇

The elite are the 1% - so they can't win in a democracy. In order to win they need to convince half of the remaining 99% to vote for them.
To do this, they first buy up the press.
Then they demonise minority groups and create a made up crisis to convince you that the minority group are the problem.
Then, they convince you one of them, is on your side and is here to save you.
Don't fall for it.
The Amazon rainforest is home to over 3 million animal species. It stores 4x as much CO2 as the earth emits in a year. Losing the Amazon means losing to climate change.
We must protect the Amazon and the world's vital forests. #ActOnClimate#climate#biodiversity#SDGs
Apartheid South Africa was banned from the Olympics for 32 years.
The same people who called Nelson Mandela a “terrorist” now say we can’t boycott apartheid Israel.
They were on the wrong side of history then — and they’re on the wrong side of history now.
You don’t have “normal relations” with genocide and apartheid.
Boycott, divestment and sanctions until Palestine is free.
Why is the PM involving himself in a local policing issue?
It’s purely a policing issue designed to protect British residents from well-known hooligans who have been banned elsewhere in Europe.
This is wild. The PM is putting Israeli hooligans before Brits’ safety and the law.
You're not hard up because of people on welfare.
You're not hard up because of refugees
You're not hard up because of net zero
You're hard up because of an exploitative system of capitalism designed to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Wake up!
Privatisation has failed, & asset managers & equity funds have no place in public services.
The RAF leases planes, children’s nurseries are owned by private equity. Billions, every year, are being stolen from the taxpayer.
The great con! #bbcqt
Trump's mass deportations aren't just pointlessly cruel.
His own Labor Department is now warning they are "threatening the stability of domestic food production and prices" for Americans.
We should be offering the people who feed us a path out of the shadows — not demonizing them.
I voted against the ban on Palestine Action - so I welcome the court’s decision to allow an appeal.
But it shouldn't need to go to court. The absurdity of this ban is now clear to the public.
The Government should now do the right thing and overturn this authoritarian ban.
Our health care system is not just broken. It is on the verge of collapse.
We must ask ourselves: Why is the richest country on earth the only major nation that doesn’t guarantee health care to all?
UK economic growth model is fatally flawed.
It assumes that impoverishing the masses will lead to economic growth.
Squeezed low/middle income households lack resources, can't aid growth.
Budget needs to be judged on how it helps the bottom 50% of people

Baroness Jones, "My Lords, I know that many on the Labour benches don't want to hear this"
"But this Labour government is more authoritarian than the last Conservative government"
*laughter in the chamber*
"Not only has the Labour government accepted all the draconian laws of the Conservative government, it actually continues to add to them"
"Now how many times in the previous 14 years the Labour benches spoke up against laws clamping down on protests, but now they're supporting them, and even defending and adding to them"
