@Peston Absolute tosh! The Govt has it on their gift to make people feel better off. They could temporarily cut fuel duty benefitting ordinary folk but also the cost base of the food & goods logistics sector thereby allowing food costs to reduce.Lots more in their gift if they so choose.

@Peston The 'elephant in the room' is that we have no strategic capability to deploy! This conflict & our response to Cyprus attack shows our military capability to be an international embarrassment. Back in 2010 it was decided to go smaller but smarter. We are smaller but not smarter.
