@DoctorYemula Aa a Trainee Clinical Psychologist, I had to do my first neuropsychological assessment with a retired Psychiatrist. I suck at neuro, so felt terrible, BUT survived!! π
Becoming a therapist is complex and exhausting because now you are the tool of your work.
Unlike a saw to a carpenter, you can't set aside your self once the work is done.
And if you are not taking care of your self, it will show. It's easy, then, for the work to follow you.
@mazfpsych Once a client asked me, I've answered where I was born, and she said 'never be ashamed of where you came from...' Interesting, as all I did was stating the name of the country, not my feelings about it π€¦πΌββοΈ
@mazfpsych Depends on the context, but I must admit as a Easter European living in the South West I feel slightly attacked every time I hear this question, and I really have to work on not being defensive!

@jason712 In my 3rd year now, and the teaching blocks are draining. For me attending placements helped massively. Although, the lack of motivation and existential dread is real... Some days are defo better than others.

@OveryGibson I dropped out of school in year 11, took a break, qualifying as a Dr in Clinical Psychology next year (before my 30th birthday too!) :) it's best if she follows her own path!
