Our thoughts today are with our clients, the families of Ian Coates, Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley-Kumar, as they mark the second anniversary of their killings with a memorial walk in Nottingham.
The walk is being held to ''wish them peace for wherever they may be now, but also to mark the importance of their fight for justice'' https://t.co/XGfqrznHOG
The families of the victims of the 2023 Nottingham attacks have welcomed the publication of the Terms Of Reference for the Public Inquiry, marking its official beginning. They say it ''marks another milestone in their quest for answers and true accountability''

An investigation into the contact Leicestershire Police had with Valdo Calocane a month before he killed Barnaby Webber, Grace O’Malley-Kumar and Ian Coates in June 2023 is to be reopened after representations by their families and our legal team.
Solicitor @NeilHudgell said: "We have repeatedly raised serious concerns over a lack of thoroughness, which in our view made this investigation insufficient and incomplete. Any other outcome than what has been announced today would have been perverse."

@NeilHudgell's reaction to confirmation of a Judge-led, Statutory Inquiry, being confirmed today by the Prime Minister:
"We want to thank the Prime Minister and the Cabinet members for their time and understanding today. It was clear that the Government has, and is listening.
"For the families, today felt like the first time that they had not had to fight for what must happen, having until now had to battle the authorities to reach this stage. It is a milestone moment.
"We now look forward to working with the Chair, once appointed, to get what will be a hugely important Inquiry started.
"It has to achieve something which has not been achieved over the past 30 years. It must ensure lessons are learned which result in real effective change, to prevent events like that in Nottingham in 2023 from ever happening again."
The launch of Sammy’s Foundation marked what would have been my sweet son’s 18th birthday. He died aged just 13 from state neglect. Yet his legacy of hope lives on through the Foundation. The launch was more than I could have dreamed of a year ago. ❤️ Hope this festive film of the night uplifts. 📽️🥂🎉
