I think, in the end, this is an excellent opportunity. Now that the conversation is elevated to a province wide "petition" level, it advances it from "some people are unhappy" to everyone needs to examine the options. Maybe it's not what people wanted .. but it is a clear progression/invitation to game out all the scenarios for ALL Albertans so that voters hit the ballot box informed.

It would be a shame if emotions took out the process before it plays out. I, for one, want to see it fully gamed out. This is a serious decision that requires thoughtfulness and clear heads. Alberta is poised to set an example for the world. I hope we rise to the occasion.
