I know they say this a lot, but please, don’t marry someone who doesn’t have anyone they can listen to.

It may come off as confidence at first, but it isn’t. There has to be someone who can talk sense into them.

You are in your early 30s. You spent your 20s in a relationship that has left you skin and bone hoping for a miracle. You haven’t upgraded in all spheres of your life. You think you've finally won after a decade of fighting every female specimen you thought he liked too.

It's you pumping money in the relationship, including washing dishes and doing his laundry. The only insurance you have is his promise that he will marry you (century and decade unknown).

He now looks even more youthful with a Masters qualification and a company car. You look like his elder sister from a fishing village along the shores. You went against your parent's advice and stuck with him.

All your English is now wasted on verbal artillery at anyone who offers advice to you. You're now at Level One of witchcraft. You spend your time watching Makula TV, Kazanyo ku Kazanyo and listening to "Abakazi twalaba" type of songs.

You're now an angry feminist. You're now emotionally manipulating your two kids. You're hoping they'll become Pilots when they grow up so that they take you on your first flight 30 years ahead.

Reminder:
Your 20s are not an extension of your adolescence. Love things will mess you up. Have goals. Men like women with value beyond mere factory settings that define you as female. Intelligence is sexy. It's 2024.
