Our longest road trip (5 days & 800 miles) starts this morning. 😅
The team arrives and drives 7+ hours up to Wisconsin Rapids, WI for a 2-game series.
Then they drive 3 hours south to Rockford, IL for a 4-game series (3 days & a double-header on June 18).
Finally the team will drive almost 5 hours back to Kalamazoo to make it home for a 4-game series (Color for a Cure Night this Saturday).
Our team will drive over 5,000 miles to play 36 road games and get back to Kalamazoo this summer.
Playing 72 games in 76 days and living life on the road is as close as college athletes can get to mirroring Minor League Baseball. 🙌
WEATHER UPDATE: First pitch is being rescheduled for 3:05pm with postgame autographs to follow 🙂 Gates will now open at 2:05pm.
Our team is actively monitoring the radar and it looks to be clearing up around 1pm.
We currently have the tarp on the field and will pull it off when the time is appropriate.
The playing surface will need some time to drain and for our team to tend to it before players can start to warm up. 🙂
Other than starting late, all of our team's operations will take place as normal.
The best thing to do is to monitor this post for the most frequent updates.
This post is updated within 60 seconds of the Admin Team's decisions about the game, weather, etc.
We can't control the weather but we try our best to be transparent and open with fans. What questions do you have? 🙂
Wow. What a cool postgame drone show 😍
Kalamazoo has never seen a show like tonight's feature. There were 200 drones synced to music with images inspired by Kalamazoo, the Growlers and the state of Michigan.
Kids were yelling out guesses as the drones flew around the sky and lit up different images and colors.
These are significantly quieter, making these nights “veteran and pet-friendly,” and ideal for fans who may be sensitive to loud noises.
Thank you to the BEST fans in baseball for your continued support 💙 @HonorCU
I don’t think Kevin McGonigle is getting enough love.
He’s a 21 year old that won the starting job in Spring Training literally just by forcing the hand of the organization. That was NOT the plan.
And now because the Tigers season hasn’t gone to plan we are talking more about that than the fact that there’s this 21 year old kid that’s going to be an All-Star putting up elite numbers while being the Tigers best player and playing every day.
Kevin McGonigle is a star and I’m happy he’s a Detroit Tiger for a long time to come.
The Lorax made an appearance at Dr. Seuss Night at the Ballpark 😂
3,000+ fans experienced THIS tonight 🙌
We had a live bat auction, The Lorax dancing, more entertainment centered around Dr. Seuss' books and our fire-breathing host.
Plus 17 runs of offense through 5 innings is never a bad thing 😏
Shoutout to the best fans in the greater-Kalamazoo area for rocking with us 🙌
There's no stopping us on the basepaths 💨
44 stolen bases leads the entire Northwoods League through the first 9 games of the season 🤝
And 3 straight wins for the #WWWrowlers 👋
🚨 NEW RECORD 🚨 Our attendance record through the first 6 games has been absolutely shattered, all thanks to the best fans in baseball 🙌
Almost 17,000 fans walked through the gates of the newly named Honor Credit Union Stadium to start the summer.
We played six games in five days highlighted by an Opening Day win, two Education Days and a loud fireworks show 🎇
This Saturday's game (Dr.Seuss Night) is already sold out.
Plan to come to a Growlers game June 11-13 to catch an insanely cool postgame drone show ⭐️
Find $15 tickets (bleachers) and $18 tickets (new stadium seats) here: https://t.co/xc8Y7uUdfe
✅ 3,100+ fans for the first fireworks show of the summer
✅ 3,600+ kids and chaperones attended Education Day this morning
Thank you to the best fans in Southwest Michigan for making our first week of baseball unforgettable 💙
