Germany’s first ever offshore wind farm, Alpha Ventus, is be dismantled after being in operation for only 15 years. Too unprofitable to operate now it can no longer pocket massive subsidies of 15.4 cents per KWh, which have run out. Forced from now on to exist on basic tariff of 3.9 cents per KWh, it will close down.

Now remind me about renewables being so much cheaper …

The UK buys most of it's oil from Norway.

Norway gets it's oil from the same oil fields that the UK has access to in the North Sea.

We are literally buying our own oil for a markup, instead of drilling it ourselves for half the price.

Why are we doing this?
