Nigel Farage asks how independent Scotland will pay the bills then closes the interview when @AngusMacNeilSNP points out the UK hasnโt paid its bills since 1945.
10 yrs since the Brexit result - the independence upshot?
Only chat of "unite the movement" "make the case for indy".
No Defacto ref by Holyrood called anytime by simple majority.
-A power available since Royal Assent of 2016 Scotland Act, 3 months before Brexit ref!
@BjCruickshank@wowcasanova We actually don't need that much unity ... But we have to agree on defacto now sec30 is closed off. ..
The pro indy voters like myself voted SNP at the election . These are the guys entrusted to do something.
@arabshedboy So you want a sec 30 referendum because you think you will win/lose on independence. ?
But against a defacto because you will win /lose on independence ?
If you want one surely you support the other ...no brainer ??,?
@BjCruickshank@wowcasanova Burnham will say no ...
A convention will talk for a few years ..
Nothing else will be found .
Convention in 2035 agrees on Defacto
Meanwhile during the messing about the pro indy majority to call the defacto has gone.
We think we have luxury of time for conventions - risky
@arabshedboy So if I am the UK Gov your do nothing attitude is a God send - no compelling reason for independence.
Defacto result having a majority wanting independence puts the UK Gov in a position where as the SC says it has to respect the "authority" of democracy.
Btw you have read SC?
@arabshedboy So you want a sec 30 referendum because you think you will win/lose on independence. ?
But against a defacto because you will win /lose on independence ?

@arabshedboy Let them ..they are free to do so ....
They can make a Sec30 referendum about the same too... It was guarantee your place in the EU last time remember.
Why you don't want to get the votes in the bag on the question of independence I find incredible.
@arabshedboy That is what happens in politics, they lambast eachother.
We lambasted the UK Gov for taking Scotland out of the EU -still happened.
Let them lambsast away on independence.
As I said if they don't take part they wipe out their MSPs ..you have no support argument just your views
@arabshedboy For absence of of doubt I support both Sec 30 and Defacto approaches .
But only one route is possible that is the defacto route in out hands.
Surely even the slowest of learners can see there will be no Sec30?
@arabshedboy Why should they ...all they are encountering is a request for a referendum with no consequences and against their mandates.
A ref request from rival politicians is very different to a vote for indy by millions of people.
The SC said as much - a vote for indy has "authority"
@arabshedboy If you want a Sec 30 you want a defacto.. both are letting the people speak on indy.
And you misunderstand elections ..they are maximum every 5 years or sooner, not "kicked into touch for a generation'.
Watch Burnham he may have a Defacto on Brexit as early as autumn.
@arabshedboy Then they have no MSPs post the election - worth calling it for that alone ..
Your every scenario to block independence falls to dust . Yet you persist...why ???
@arabshedboy Yes & asked a UK PM on the record in the Liaison Comm, that if the Scottish people voted for indy in an election would he respect that or not.
He carefully avoided being a Lukashenko and ignoring democracy.
Sec 30 blocked and you argue to block defacto for indy -why??
@arabshedboy 19 other countries strengthens the argument.
You either believe the Scottish people are sovereign with a right to self-determination which the UK agreed with in 2014 & a matter to be decided democratically or you don't .
In your scenario nothing is possible for independence
@BjCruickshank@wowcasanova My suggestion is call a Scottish election under Sec3 of the Scotland Act and tell the world and the voters that it is a defacto referendum.
@BjCruickshank@wowcasanova Given the Scot Parliament does have lower to call an election and the SC indicating the "authority" of a vote "on the question" in a "culture of democracy"
Then call a defacto ref in absence of anything else and all else blocked.
Democracy is respected by all inc SC.
