As a keen observer of the world over the past 45 years.
As a father of three very special daughters.
It disturbs me how toxic our world has become. One of my more recent conclusions is that a root cause of the culture slippage is feminism.
Now obviously this is a delicate matter when the three most important people in my life are three beautiful girls.
My mission in life, is for them to have a great life. By great I mean fulfilling and without regret.
I just don’t think that teaching young women (or men) to optimize for being completely independent is a good plan.
It’s more like a sure-fire way to shuffle priorities in a bad way, and collapse the birth rate.
A) Men are not better, or worse. We are however different.
B) Traditional roles were more in alignment with our natural strengths and tendencies.
C) Men and women are stronger with each other.
D) Men and women are happier together than alone.
I think we need to teach young men and women to make themselves high value, and focus on finding a high value partner, as soon as possible. If you can find the best kid at your high school. That’s probably a great choice.
I don’t think things get better when you wait. Quite the opposite really, as the pickings get slimmer.
As for my own daughter’s independence. Obviously I don’t want them to be helpless or abused. I want them to be competent so that they COULD be independent.
But they should know, that independence is NOT the goal. A loving family is the goal.
A partner that you can honor and trust and share life with is more important than any job or vacation or apartment or whatever other material or superficial thing you seek as an “independent person”.
It perhaps sounds too simple.
But I really think if we just shoved culture in the direction of being extremely wholesome, and family oriented.
Instead of pretending that men and women are exactly the same and should have the exact same role in society.
It would solve a HUGE amount of our problems.
Obviously there are outliers and I want everyone to do what makes them happy.
But dude, nobody is happy right now. There is plenty of research to tell us what really makes us happy. Spoiler alert, it’s not being alone.
Or your third trip to Italy.
On your fancy car.
Or your designer clothes.
Or your degree.
Or your work accomplishments.
Maybe if you’re Elon.
It’s the people who stuck with you through the thick and thin.
The people who loved you even when you didn’t love yourself.
The people who supported you. Had coffee with you. Laughed, and grew old with you.
Your relationships and the time you spend with people you love is the real currency.
So as a good dad, I want to help my daughters succeed by giving them the tools to pick someone great.
By helping them be capable, but still value and seek a bond.
Find a partner.
Commit to each other.
Get after it.
That’s my message.
I spoke to @sciencecohen yesterday about the great H5N1 ostrich cull. The biggest tragedy of is that it could have been avoided if the farm owners had responsibly enacted basic biosecurity & followed CFIA guidance for exemption. They chose to do otherwise

🇨🇦🪶🔫 : CPC MP Scott Anderson just blasted the CFIA and Liberal government for spending millions of dollars to conduct the mass inhumane slaughter of ostriches at the Universal Ostrich Farm.
The government fired hundreds of rounds into a kill pen at night, that took several hours to complete. No doubt the ostriches panicked and ran frantically around as the shots rang out, hour after hour.
The government did this to ensure the farm owners & protesters could hear every single shot fired.
This is Canada now folks. This is what fascism truly is. Terrorizing local citizens with 100+ RCMP officers as otherwise healthy birds are executed, in a show of government force.
A family lost their livelihood..I now have zero respect for the RCMP CFIA Liberals CPC and the general public who ignored the Ostriches..I hold my head Down in shame as a Canadian right now..
🚨 BREAKING: The Supreme Court of Canada has granted a stay of execution for the ostriches
Just as Katie, Karen and supporters were finishing a morning prayer, word came down that the Supreme Court had granted the stay and the ostriches will live.
God is great!!!
This decision to kill hundreds of ostriches looks like another example of government overreach.
I support the owners Karen Espersen and Dave Bilinski, who have raised some of the birds facing death for decades.

The BC Ostrich Farm BEGGED the CFIA to test the birds or let them do it. The farm insists they are not sick.
In response, the CFIA threatened enormous fines and jail time per each bird anyone dares to try and test.
Therefore anything after the m*rder simply cannot be trusted.
Today, the @rcmp has 40 members at an ostrich farm in British Columbia. These members have been sent there to assist in the culling of 400 healthy ostriches with @CFIAPresACIA . Will my MP @amansodhilib speak out about this?
Nobody complained about the Temporary Foreign Worker Program when it actually filled real labour gaps—like fisheries or farms. We complain now because it’s being abused, undercutting wages, and leaving young Canadians jobless.
Nobody complained about immigration when it was reasonable and respectful. We complain now because it’s being exploited, driving housing costs through the roof, and overwhelming our hospitals and schools.
Nobody complained about immigration’s role in building our nation. We complain now because the government uses it as a political weapon—branding anyone who questions the numbers as “racist” instead of fixing the system.
It’s not “anti-immigrant” to demand sanity and responsibility from your government. It’s pro-Canadian. If you can’t tell the difference, you’re not debating—you’re gaslighting.
Striking #AirCanada flight attendants are defying a #Liberal order to return to work. Hopefully, these people will wake up next time they go to the polls. Government interference destroys any leverage these people have to achieve a fair deal. Probably freeze their bank accounts.
