Wigan UK: AWP co-hosted a peaceful protest outside Wigan Town Hall today, with Cheshire Animal Rights Campaigns, asking Wigan Council to use its voice as a stakeholder in Manchester Airports Group PLC to help end the imports of macaque monkeys into the UK, via Manchester. /
💚 From the bottom of our hearts, we thank all those voting for AWP yesterday, all those supporting our candidates in person & online, and our members & supporters for making our candidacies possible!

💡In each of these wards Animal Welfare Party stood for the first time ever and, we believe, our candidates made a small piece of history, asserting as they did that animal issues cannot be sidelined in political decision-making. /
👉🏽In Local Elections in England our results were:
🏵️ Gavin Ridley, Branksome West & Penn Hill ward, Poole Town Council 365 votes / 5% of votes cast.
The fact that today scores of people across the nation are celebrating his special birthday, from primary school children to care home residents, tells us something of just how much he and his work mean to us all. 🎊
