In May 1970, the senior class of Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School in Orange, Texas, booked a young, local three-piece band called ZZ Top to play their high school prom. Posing on stage with their gear for the school yearbook—which humorously printed their name as Zee Zee Top—a clean-shaven Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard, and Dusty Hill were just beginning their journey as That Little Ol' Band from Texas. Rest in Peace Frank Beard.

Following Frank’s passing, ZZ Top has canceled its upcoming shows in Salt Lake City and Colorado Springs.

The band will resume The Big One! Tour this weekend with two dates at Austin City Limits, one of Frank’s favorite venues in a city he considered a second home.
